All Big Reds know what an honor it is to have your photo hanging in the Parkersburg High School Fieldhouse. Parker Woods set that goal early, and as a sophomore, he’s already earned his place. First Team All-State. We’re so proud of him and know he has great things ahead of him in his baseball career.

A hard-fought regional battle came down to the final innings Tuesday night as Parkersburg fell to Huntington, 5-4, in the opening round of the Class AAAA Regionals.

The Big Reds answered with a four-run fourth inning and collected 10 hits on the night, led by Connor Elkins with three hits. Noah Holland and Gavin Fling each drove in runs as Parkersburg battled until the final out.

Now the focus shifts to tomorrow night.

The Big Reds host Beckley in an elimination game at Bennett Stump Field at 6:30 PM with the regional season on the line.

Pack the stands. Wear red. Let’s bring the energy. ⚾️
