This week, Principal Stacy Bush and Assistant Principal Yanrong Tjandra accepted National Association of Elementary School Principals National Gold Star School® Award for GVA-DC! 🏆🌟

This program recognizes outstanding schools where learning communities collaboratively foster continuous improvement, ensure student success, and go beyond academic achievement by cultivating a strong school culture and implementing systems that support sustained excellence -- and we're the only Colorado school to receive it.

A word from Ms. Bush:

Strong to the finish! 🏃‍♀️✨

Our Girls on the Run team proudly crossed the finish line at the Colfax 5K alongside GVA supporters, celebrating the culmination of 10 weeks of hard work and training. We’re so proud of each runner for pushing themselves and finishing strong! 💪💖

A big thank you to our amazing coaches, Miss B, Ms. Bowman, and Ms. Leitz, for their dedication and support all season long!

At GVA Douglas County, we take care of our own.

Luca, one of our students, is courageously battling leukemia. His family is walking through an incredibly hard season, and they need the support of their community.

Taste of Soul is hosting a fundraiser to help lift some of that weight.
