One of the most powerful parts of a PORi oncology rehabilitation course?
Learning from real patients.
We intentionally include patient videos throughout our courses so PT/OT/SLP clinicians can see how evaluation, clinical reasoning, and hands-on treatment come together in real life - not just in theory.
And we’ve been building even more of this content: expanding our library of hands-on treatment sessions available in both live-virtual and recorded courses.
For our PORi-Certified Therapists, the learning doesn’t stop there:
Each quarter, you get free access to a 2 hour Video Review Session where we:
✔️ Review a real patient case
✔️ Break down treatment decisions
✔️ Answer your questions live
This work truly takes a team. We’re incredibly grateful to our patient volunteers and our amazing filming crew who help bring these real clinical moments to life.
Our goal remains the same: That all patients with a cancer diagnosis have prompt, easy access to quality cancer rehabilitation.

She just wrapped up teaching our PORi Foundation in Oncology Rehabilitation course at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN, alongside an incredible group of nearly 30 clinicians. While the weather may have been chilly, the views from St. Mary’s Medical Center were absolutely beautiful.
There’s nothing better than seeing another group of clinicians begin their oncology rehabilitation pathway - thank you to Essentia Health for the opportunity to be part of this important work.
And Julia isn’t slowing down! She’s heading to Garden City, NY for another Foundation weekend, hosted by Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy and there are still a few seats available! If you’ve been thinking about getting started in oncology rehab, now’s your chance to join us.
We’d love to see you there!

Thank you to TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, a longtime PORi Center of Excellence, for sharing this meaningful post in recognition of World Lymphedema Day.
We are grateful for the team’s continued leadership and commitment to providing specialized oncology rehabilitation services that support patients throughout their cancer recovery.
Supporting survivors. Advancing care. Recognizing excellence.
On World Lymphedema Day, TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center highlights the impact of lymphedema and the importance of specialized care.
Lymphedema affects an estimated 15% of all cancer survivors and up to 30% of those treated for breast cancer. It is a chronic, often progressive condition characterized by swelling, typically in the limbs, due to a damaged lymphatic system. It can occur after cancer treatments such as surgery or radiation.
While there is no cure, early intervention and expert management significantly reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.
Our Oncology Rehabilitation and Wellness Program — one of the largest programs in the state — provides specialized Lymphedema Therapy led by certified lymphedema therapists. We deliver manual lymph drainage and complete decongestive therapy (MLD/CDT), the most effective treatment option for lymphedema. MLD/CDT is noninvasive and has no adverse side effects. We also provide education on proper skin care and hygiene to help prevent progression.
TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is proud to be a PORi Center of Excellence in Oncology Rehabilitation, the highest level of PORi certification. This distinction recognizes programs that provide exceptional care through integrated services, streamlined processes and strong, cohesive teams.
If you or a loved one are experiencing swelling after cancer treatment, connect with our team to learn more at 615-768-2650.

An incredible few days of oncology rehabilitation training in Cape Town! 🇿🇦
PORi Founder and Clinical Director Julia recently returned to her roots in South Africa to teach our Breast Cancer Rehabilitation course, hosted by the wonderful team at Panorama Centre for Surgical Oncology.
The course brought together 17 passionate clinicians (we even had a clinician travel from Namibia to attend!) committed to advancing oncology rehabilitation and improving care for people living with and beyond cancer.
A huge thank you to Panorama Centre for Surgical Oncology for hosting such a fantastic learning experience, and to the amazing patient volunteers who participated in the lab sessions. Your willingness to help clinicians learn hands-on skills makes a lasting impact for cancer survivors everywhere.
We’re continually inspired by clinicians around the world working to advance oncology rehabilitation.
Were you part of this course? We'd love to hear what stood out most from the experience.
