This summer, iSpy Agent Douglas!

Families and adventurers can dive into a summer of exploration with the brand new I Spy Agent Douglas scavenger hunt, an exciting twist added to the popular Agents of Discovery program! This season, Agent Douglas isn’t just your guide… he’s hiding around the County, and it’s your job to track him down. Follow DLC and Douglas County - Government social media for clues to discover where he’s hiding each month. If you find him, a special prize awaits!

While the scavenger hunt takes center stage this summer, the core Agents of Discovery experience continues. Everyone can still enjoy monthly missions crafted by Douglas County Rangers and Douglas Land Conservancy, guiding players through the county’s pristine open spaces and trails. Each mission is designed to spark curiosity, learning, and outdoor adventure.

After a week of appreciation for educators and staff, plus a snow day catch-up, we're overjoyed. With Firehouse subs, Turkish beach towels, slushies, fruit, cookies, and breakfast, IHE staff are poised for a sun-filled summer. Iron Horse Elementary School

We can’t celebrate Staff Appreciation Week without shouting out all the incredible people at Iron Horse who keep our school running strong every single day 💙

Our Personalized Learning team works tirelessly to support every student. Our administration team is unstoppable and always leading with heart. Our library and lunch crew bring so much care and positivity to our students’ daily routines. Our preschool teams deserve a huge thank you for working with our youngest engineers and setting such a strong foundation. And we are so grateful for our EAs who support everyone across the building in so many important ways.

And of course, our amazing specials teachers absolutely rock and bring so much joy and creativity into our building!

It truly takes a whole team to make Iron Horse such a special place. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! ✨

This week, we are celebrating the heart of our school… our incredible classroom teachers! From Kindergarten through 5th grade, they bring learning to life every single day.

Our teachers are more than educators. They are cheerleaders, problem-solvers, role models, and safe spaces for our students. They create classrooms where curiosity grows, confidence builds, and every child feels seen and valued.

Because of them, our school is a place full of creativity, laughter, and meaningful learning. We truly would not be the amazing school we are without their dedication, passion, and care.

Due to the wet and chilly weather forecast for this Friday, we have made the decision to cancel Field Day. While we are disappointed to postpone the fun, the safety and comfort of our students are our top priorities.
The new date for Field Day will be Friday, May 15th.

On the rescheduled date, please make sure to send your child to school wearing their IHE grade level shirt or their specific grade level color. Wearing these colors is a wonderful way to show our school pride, help identify the different grade levels, and build a fun culture of sportsmanship and community spirit.
