🌊 Two guests stepped up for Table Topics last night. One left with a ribbon.

That’s the ripple effect.

Our theme for the evening was β€œThe Ripple Effect,” and one of the best examples came from our guests.

Like many first-time visitors, Pat Loop and Joe could have simply observed, listened, and headed home.

Instead, when the opportunity came to answer an impromptu speaking question during Table Topics, they raised their hands.

Speaking off-the-cuff in front of a room full of people isn’t easy. Doing it during your first visit to a Toastmasters club takes even more courage.

By the end of the evening, Pat had tied with Parker Toastmaster Tom Ludlow for Best Impromptu Speech.

That’s what happens when guests are welcomed, encouraged, and given the opportunity to participate.

Congratulations to all of our award winners:

πŸ† Best Speaker: Bill Morgan
πŸ† Best Evaluator: Jim Spanier
πŸ† Best Impromptu Speech (Tie): Pat Loop & Tom Ludlow

We were also delighted to welcome guests Pat, Joe, and Laura. Thank you for spending part of your evening with us.

A special thank you to Pat and Joe, who both accepted the challenge of participating in Table Topics during their visit. Stepping up to answer an impromptu speaking question in front of a room full of people takes courage, especially when you’re experiencing a Toastmasters meeting for the first time.

Throughout the evening, members and guests explored how our words, actions, and choices can influence others in ways we may never fully realize.

Last night was a reminder that growth doesn’t always begin with a major life decision.

Sometimes it begins with something much simpler.

Walking through a door.

Raising your hand.

Saying β€œyes.”

Last night, Pat’s ripple effect started with walking through the door.

We wonder who will create the next ripple at Parker Toastmasters.

What a wonderful evening of collaboration, leadership, service, and community engagement!

Thank you to our outstanding panelists:

β€’ Brandi Wilks
β€’ Allison Therwhanger
β€’ Michele Schultz
β€’ Brie Dilley
β€’ Cheri Sullivan

We welcomed approximately 25 attendees and enjoyed a meaningful conversation about how organizations across Parker work together to strengthen our community.

One theme emerged again and again: strong communities are built through collaboration.

Our Word of the Day was Collaboration, and it quickly became clear that it perfectly captured the spirit of the evening.

Thank you to Bruce Ekins for welcoming our guests, to Tom, Cody, Chris, and Todd for serving as greeters, and to everyone who attended, participated, and stayed afterward to network and continue the conversation.

We were also honored to welcome two guests from Toastmasters International World Headquarters, including the head of marketing and another HQ employee who is also a Parker resident.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success.

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer β€” it’s a reminder of sacrifice, service, leadership, and community.

We’re grateful for those who served, those who sacrificed, and the families who carry those legacies forward.

As we reflect today, we’re also reminded how important strong communities are β€” communities built through service, connection, volunteerism, and people willing to step forward for others.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day.
