The 4-H Box Car Camp has started last Sunday. Participants have started making their Box Cars. It’s not too late for other interested youth. They can still catch up for the next meeting on Sunday. Pls contact Debbie at 623 695-5914, if you have questions or or want to register.

It’s time for Cloverbud camp for kids ages 5-7. It will start at 8:00 am and be completed by 12:00pm every day From July 13-16, at the Extension Office. Parents must drop off and pick up. Camp is free to attend. Registration Form and Parent’s Release Forms are due July 9th. Space is limited, please submit required forms ASAP. Call Debbie at 623-695-5914 to reserve or for questions.

It’s time for camp! Teams of two, ages 10 and up. It will start at 6:00 pm and finish by 8:00. Parents must drop off and pick up. Camp is free to attend. Youth will be responsible for building cars with limited help. Please call 623-695-5914 if you have questions or concerns. Parent meeting will be held at 6:00 PM on July 5th. Registration Form and Parent’s Release Forms must be completed prior to youth build. Space is limited.

We will be having our second cooking demonstration workshop on July 16, Thursday. This will be at the Extension Office, and we will be learning to make Mesquite Coffee and Nopales Salsa. To all gardening enthusiasts, the Parker Master Gardeners will hold a Garden Day activity this Saturday, June 20, at 7:30 AM, at the Parker Community Garden at 1300 Ocotillo Ave, Parker, AZ, on the United Methodist Church compound. The Extension Office will hold a New World Screwworm information drive to learn more of this devastating livestock pest which can also infest other wildlife and our pets. The New World Screw Worm is a serious livestock pest that has affected the livestock industry in the past. It was effectively eradicated from the US a few decades ago. It remained in some parts of south America and has been observed to move northwards a year or two ago. Its presence in the US has been confirmed a few days ago in Texas and in New Mexico. Today the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) confirmed additional cases of New World Screwworm in Texas and a case in Lea County, New Mexico. This brings the total confirmed cases to four in Texas and one in New Mexico.
