Class of 2026 repping their future colleges today on campus! We love to see it!
Isn't it crazy what happens when someone sees something in you that you never saw in yourself? And what about when everything just falls into place? For our last episode of High School Time Machine, we take two stories of student accomplishments and tie them together. We're calling this theme: Hard Work and Hidden Potential.
Mr. Jaramillo shares how a teacher saw something in him he didn’t see in himself — and how that moment shaped his future. LuHi senior Dane shares how his robotics team punched their ticket to State — not by luck, but through teamwork and countless hours of showing up.
Sometimes accomplishment looks like:
Being seen.
Being trusted.
Being part of a team.
Putting in the work when no one is watching.
To keep the conversation going at home, here are some reflection questions:
- Have you ever had a teacher (or other adult/friend) see your potential, even when you couldn’t? How did that impact you?
- Dane shared the value of teamwork and showing up - no matter if you’re the one front and center or in the background. Which role do you gravitate towards more: front and center or background teammate? Why?
Thanks so much for listening along to all our storytellers! This series has been really fun to make, and we would love your feedback! Send us an email at [email protected].
