Meet Karyn!

With more than 10 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education, she is passionate about creating classrooms where children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. Her experience spans public, private, Title I, international, and project-based learning environments.

She brings learning to life through art, hands-on activities, imaginative play, and meaningful exploration. She values building strong relationships with children and families and strives to create a classroom where every child feels seen, encouraged, and inspired. Her goal is to nurture not only academic growth, but also confidence, kindness, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Learning how to navigate a disagreement is one of the most important skills a child develops in preschool.

At Ivybrook Academy, socialization is not left to chance. Our educators intentionally create opportunities for collaboration, and when conflicts arise, they guide children through the process of expressing their feelings, listening to a peer's perspective, and finding a resolution together.

These are not skills children are born with. They are practiced and developed over time in an environment that treats social-emotional growth with the same intention as academic learning.

Meet Danielle

Danielle is so excited to be part of the Ivybrook Academy community and looks forward to getting to know each child and their amazing personalities.

Danielle began working as a Teacher Assistant with Ivybrook Academy in March 2024. At that time, she had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Praj in the Older 2’s classroom. In 2026, she began her journey working with the Pre-K classroom.

Danielle loves working with children of all ages. One of her favorite parts of being a teacher is seeing the children light up with energy and enthusiasm as they discover and learn something new. She believes there is nothing more rewarding than watching a child’s curiosity and excitement grow.

Before joining Ivybrook Academy, Danielle attended school for Medical Assisting and Medical Billing and Coding. She spent more than ten years working in the optometry field, where she wore many hats, including Office Manager, Paraoptometric, Optician, and Vision Therapy Assistant, primarily working with children. She then spent three years working at a veterinary hospital, where she cared for and worked with many beloved fur babies.

Danielle is a proud mom of three wonderful daughters and has an amazing husband. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing, and making memories with her family.

Danielle believes strongly in the power of learning about nature and the world around us. She is excited to help guide, teach, and encourage your little ones and to be part of their fun and meaningful learning journey at Ivybrook Academy.

Not every child learns by sitting and listening, and our curriculum reflects that.

Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences identifies distinct ways children process and understand the world: through language, logic, spatial awareness, music, movement, nature, interpersonal connection, and self-reflection.

At Ivybrook Academy, this theory is not just something we reference. It actively shapes how our educators plan and individualize instruction. A child who learns best through physical movement will explore a concept differently than a child who gravitates toward visual or musical expression.

This is what individualized education looks like. Not a single method applied to every student, but a responsive approach built around who each child actually is.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT!✨

Aida Castro has lived most of her life in California. She and her husband moved to beautiful Colorado to be closer to their grandchildren.

Aida has been an educator for children ranging from preschool age through high school for approximately 34 years. Her true passion is teaching preschool-age children. She believes this is where she has the greatest opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives by providing children with the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to be successful throughout their school years and, ultimately, to grow into responsible and caring citizens within their communities.
