Now accepting applications for the Pharmacy Technician Program at Mineral Area College! The deadline to apply is June 17, but if you need financial assistance, you really should apply now. This program is only offered in the fall term. Classes meet Mon/Tue/Thu nights from 6:00-8:30 pm and for 3 Saturdays from 9:00 am-2:00 pm and will run from August 22 to December 15. The course prepares students for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam, and the cost of the exam- as well as lab fees, textbooks, background check, drug screen, and Missouri State Board of Pharmacy registration fees- are all included in the $3,874 program fee.

Skill check-offs for this program were developed in conjunction with the Mineral Area College Nursing Department, so you won't have to repeat this lengthy portion of instruction if- when- you decide to take your career to the next level!

You will learn the information, techniques, practice, and procedures necessary for successful completion of the Certified Nurse Assistant exam. You will learn how to assess patients, recognize changes, take vital signs, and aid with activities of daily living. You also learn effective communication skills and how to protect the privacy and confidentiality of your patients.

You will get considerable lab practice in our state-of-the-art Nursing Labs as well as clinical experience in our employer partner facilities before sitting for the included Certified Nurse Assistant exam.
