We want to apologize about the lack of clarity regarding next Saturday's event celebrating Rich East. The event will be in the Park Forest Recreational Center portion of Michelle Obama, NOT in the newer portion of the facility. Aside from that, everything else is the same, as it is FREE & OPEN to ALL RICH EAST ALUMNI, and will feature fun, volleyball and lots of reminiscing about our school which is set to close at the end of this school year!!! Please come out and take full advantage of this tremendous chance and opportunity!!!

Calling all Class of 1999 Rocket Alumni. As the saying goes, better LATE than NEVER! We apologize that this gives you exactly 1 month to get your plans and accommodations in order, but, we couldn't let the 20-year mark come and go without doing SOMETHING! We am working with Nigel Anderson to try and have a full days worth of activities including a tour of Rich East. We're also striving to coordinate getting Whirlyball for the following Sunday, but, WE HAVE ALREADY PAID THE DEPOSIT AND BOOKED DINING ON THE GREEN, so we're definitely doing this!! Please let all our fellow C/O 1999 Rockets know, as we'll be perfectly honest with you that we're not tracking down ANYONE to let them know, so we need your help pretty please!!! Hope to see you there, and YES, we will be verifying class with all four years worth of yearbooks!!!!

Remember all, this evening we will be hosting the first ever Rock the Vote Basketball Tournament at Michelle Obama School in Park Forest. This tournament is open to all interested participants, and will feature basketball and a chance to hear from the candidates for Village Trustee in Park Forest. If you're interested in participating, the entry fee is just $10 per player, and you may bring your own team or come out as a free agent! Come on out and hear from the candidates while competing for a chance to be the champion of the Rock the Vote Basketball Tournament!!! Hope to see you there!!!

The Rich East Student Alumni Association believes that Local Elections Matter, and none moreso to the RESAA Alumni still living in Park Forest than its upcoming Trustee election which features SIX candidates for Village Trustee, set to take place on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 (with early voting starting Monday, March 20th, 2017). So what better way to learn about the candidates than at a Basketball tournament set to learn whose the best of the Southern Suburbs. Come out on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 from 5pm to 9pm and enjoy participating in a single-elimination tournament while hearing from any of the SIX Candidates willing to address those in attendance during a 10 minute stump speech in between games. This event is open to the public and free for spectators, and only $10 per player (bring your own team or sign-on as a free agent). If the Pro Bowl isn't entertaining enough for you, come out tonight and enjoy a truly competitive set of games between the FINAL FOUR of the Dr. King Keep the Dream Alive Challenge. It will tip-off at 6pm SHARP, and feature two semi-finals and a final!!! Hope to see everyone there, and remember, let's keep the Dream Alive!!!!

This week is the final week to sign-up to participate in the Dr. King Keep the Dream Alive 5-on-5 Basketball Challenge! All monies and rosters are due by this Friday, January 13th, 2017 by Midnight so as to allow for the preparation of the brackets and scheduling. You may make payments to the [email protected] Paypal account or contact 708.808.0814 to schedule an in-person meeting/pickup. You don't need a team to sign-up, as once you've paid, your name will be posted in Alumni Groups so as to connect with other interested teammates!!! Don't miss out on the opportunity, and if you have ANY questions, please post them below so they can be answered for everyone!!! This tournament is open to all, not just RE Alumni, so there should be no excuse(s) for not being able to assemble or field a team. No player limit, but there's an 8 team cap due to time--so get your spot reserved immediately!!!
