WALK-A-THON REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Registration fee is $20 before Friday May, 11th. (It is $25 the day of the race)

What you get for your registration:
The 1.8 mile walk from the Field House to the White Barn and back.
Racing Bib
Meal & Drink
Collectible Pin
Awesome Finish Party
Points for your school to help them win $5000


Check in is at the Field House from 12:30 – 1:15 pm
Walk Starts at 1:30 pm

Signing up for the Walk-a-thon is a great way for JRES to get participation points for the $5000 RAGNAR Grant! Grants are available for the schools with the most participants:
1st place - $5000
2nd place - $3000
3rd place - $2000

Walkers count as 1 point. Virtual walkers count as 1 point. A ‘virtual walker’ is a paid Walk-a-Thon registration but the person will not be there walking. So anybody can register – friends, neighbors, aunts in Hollywood, CA, Grandma in Germany, etc. Their registration is a donation to the Ed Foundation and helps JRES win the $5000 prize.


JRES has recently been awarded a grant from the Ed Foundation to pay for a Science room aide for the 2012-2013 school year. We are trying to win the grant to buy supplies for our new Science room. So gather up your family members and friends, near and far, and get them registered for the Walk-a-thon. Be sure to specify JRES as your school. And don't forget to ask your kids about the awesome assembly they had on Thursday!

JRES will be having a Pizza Party for the class in each grade that signs up the most walkers. The registration deadline is Friday, May 11th, so that's our deadline for earning the pizza party.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
May 7-11, 2012
Students, show your teachers how much you appreciate them!
All students are invited to show their teacher appreciation by the following:
Tuesday, May 8: Bring a flower to add to a bouquet for your teacher
Wednesday, May 9: Draw a picture, make a card, and/or write a letter to your teacher
Thursday, May 10: Bring a small token of appreciation (your choice) to your teacher
(Of course, these activities are optional, and if you forget, we will have extras in the teacher’s lounge. We will also be sending reminder fliers home during the week).

Dear Parley Park Parents - The PTA Teacher Appreciation Week begins Monday, May 7th. The committee has planned a wonderful week of meals. We are so thankful for all of you who sign up to brings meals, drinks or treats for our special teachers and staff. We are also thrilled to once again have a Latino Lunch arranged by our Latino families. We appreciate all you do to make this a very special week.
