Our whole Middle School spent the week exploring the Uinta Mountains for their fall Outdoor Education trip, taking on new challenges and learning together beyond the classroom.

Sixth grade connected their ELA learning from The Giver to the outdoors through a Utopia Challenge. Seventh grade took on the challenge of rock climbing, while eighth grade headed out for an overnight backpacking adventure. The week wrapped up with an all-Middle School hike up Bald Mountain, led by our eighth graders.

And, of course, there was plenty of swimming and fun at Mirror Lake along the way. A week full of adventure, challenge, teamwork, and time together in the mountains. 🏔️

Two weeks of PCDS Summer in the books and we’ve been busy 🌞⛰️

Our Mini Moose explored Park City wildlife through art and discovery, then stepped into the world of dinosaurs, creating fossils and erupting volcanoes.

Curious Cubs immersed themselves in local adventures before becoming Utah makers—connecting with Main Street, Rundown Ranch, PC Museum and the heart of our community.

Jr. Jackrabbits have been fully engaged in outdoor learning, hiking, exploring creeks, practicing archery, building birdhouses, and visiting local landmarks such as PCMR and This is the Place.

A summer filled with exploration and discovery!

5th grade wrapped up our spring Outdoor Education season with a trip to Dinosaur National Monument 🦕🌄

The trip began at the Quarry Exhibit Hall, where students saw a wall featuring over 1,500 dinosaur bones. While there, they participated in an engaging ranger talk about dinosaurs in Utah and earned their Junior Ranger badges.

The class then hiked Jones Hole Trail at the Jones Hole Fish Hatchery, stopping along the way to cool off at a beautiful waterfall.

The adventure continued on the Green River with a whitewater rafting trip led by Adrift Dinosaur, complete with a stop to explore a cave once inhabited by Butch Cassidy.

Students also set up camp and cooked their own meals, building independence and confidence every step of the way. Adventure, teamwork, reflection, and unforgettable memories all in one incredible trip 💚
