Wild Roots Montessori Wild Roots Montessori is a nature-based, holistic education for your 3 to 6 year olds in Park City.

Our operating business hours are from 8:30am to 3pm, M-TH, with our additional Friday optional alternative arts program. We are passionate about creating life long learners and know that we can do that through the Montessori philosophy indoors and outdoors.

Our First Discovery Day!

The excitement was high as we headed out for our very first Discovery Day of the year! Our Wild Roots explorers were ready to dive into another year of outdoor education.

We waded through frog ponds and made some incredible discoveries along the way—frog eggs, praying mantises, dragonflies, and so much more! 🐸🥚🦗🪻

We played Fox & Squirrel, practiced our trail safety routines, and reminded ourselves that there is always something new to notice when we slow down and look closely.

What a beautiful start to a year of learning through nature, building confidence outdoors, and growing our sense of wonder. We can’t wait to see where our adventures take us! 🏔️💚

One of the greatest benefits of a mixed-age Montessori classroom is that children learn from one another naturally. When a 7-year-old teaches a 6-year-old letter formation, both children benefit deeply. The younger child often feels more comfortable and inspired learning from a peer, while the older child strengthens their own understanding, confidence, patience, and leadership skills through teaching.

In Montessori, this kind of peer learning creates a collaborative community rather than a competitive environment. Older students become role models, and younger students are motivated by seeing what is possible just ahead of them developmentally. It allows children to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a very authentic and meaningful way.

Recently, our Wild Roots Montessori community had the opportunity to visit the (NAC) in Park City and it was inspiring.

Through adaptive sports and team-based challenges, our students explored what it means to build confidence, communicate clearly, and support one another. One of the most powerful moments was practicing climbing “blind,” where students had to rely entirely on their peers’ voices to guide each movement!

We heard encouragement like, “Good job Avery, you did really well,” echoing throughout the space and our students left feeling so proud.

We’re so grateful to the incredible staff at the National Ability Center for creating such a supportive and empowering experience for our students.
