Niceness is such a good compass for where the illusion of separation sneaks in.

Where am I acting out of an attempt to make “someone else” feels more comfortable, more seen, more validated as a clunky identity hanging on for dear life?

It’s always an attempt to make my own clunky identity more comfortable, and it’s the opposite direction of truth.

With every breath I take, I’m either being “nice” and reinforcing the idea that there is someone to be nice to/as, or I’m relaxing into the remembrance that there is only one of us here, resting as love.

The beauty is that even when I’m doing the “nice” thing, the underlying, all-encompassing truth never changes, it just runs as an infinite current ready to dissolve the thing that wants to be nice.

It’s so gentle. There’s no rush to extinguish the people pleasing. There’s no need to coddle it as “part of me” that needs to be loved. The more it’s allowed to dissolve, the more it becomes obvious that it never really existed as anything other than love.

Thanksgiving can feel like a national permission slip to reflect on and express our gratitude, which is beautiful! And it’s also calling me to reflect on how we collectively compartmentalize gratitude—sequestering it off to be a special *holiday time* feeling. What would happen if feeling and expressing authentic gratitude were a year-round norm? What if we made it a point to look for what we appreciate about the here & now?

These probably seem like leading questions, but I’m genuinely asking myself what a sustainable gratitude practice would look like for me. Sometimes the classic “write a gratitude list before you go to bed” exercises feel forced, which defeats the purpose for me. It’s a little painful to admit that I’ve been living outside the flow of constant gratitude lately, because I’ve been in that flow before and it’s so juicy and wonderful! When I’m living in gratitude, nothing could possibly go “wrong” because I’m connected to the deep knowing that everything that happens in life is a gift, no matter how uncomfortable it feels in the moment.

As soon as I’m willing to surrender to this truth, the stream of gratitude is easy to fall back into. I’m officially calling myself out on all the ways I’ve over-complicated gratitude. It’s as simple as breathing, listening, appreciating the experience of being here, no matter where “here” is. I am grateful to be right where I am now, spending time with myself writing on my bed, listening to Joshua’s jungle music from upstairs, experiencing spaciousness on this holiday.

May you experience moments of authentic gratitude today and everyday in whatever way feels truest and juiciest to you. And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here with me. 🧡🧡🧡

When we choose to love every itty bitty part of ourselves, we make the world a better place. Every time we come across a shadowy corner of our own experience, a shadowy corner of the world becomes a little brighter, more live-able, less terrifying. This process isn’t about ignoring the darkness, it’s about shining a light on it until there is no darkness left. When we choose to lean into the areas we’ve been avoiding, we liberate ourselves from the shackles of our patterning. When we all do that, we will create the world of our dreams. ❤️

💜 FRIENDLY REMINDER: YOU ARE A POWERFUL CREATOR 💜

When life feels tumultuous and unpredictable, it can be tempting to wait for the grownups to step in and restore order to a disorderly world. “Someone should do something about this!!” It’s a little unsettling to realize that we ARE the grown-ups. When used correctly, the feeling of discontent can be a powerful catalyst. Instead of inspiring us to look outward for a solution, it’s a sign to look inward.

When the mainstream (main-FLOW) doesn’t feel in alignment, the best thing we can do is tune in to our internal flow. Feeling disappointed by the world around us is an invitation to re-appoint ourselves as the creator of reality. The shift we want to see in the outside world needs to happen in our inside world first.

Tune in. Listen. Respond. Move. Act. Shift. Repeat.

As we attune to the deepest currents of truth within us, we purify the oceans of the world around us. We become the clear reflection we are looking for.

Thank you for making the world a truer, you-er place. 💜

💙“Be Yourself”💙 isn’t just a nice thing to plop on an inspirational meme—it is literally the most valuable contribution anyone can make to humanity. YOU ARE THE ONE AND ONLY YOU THERE WILL EVER BE!! You’ve got some juicy goodness inside of you that has NEVER EXISTED BEFORE IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE AND WILL NEVER EXIST AGAIN. PLEASE GIVE IT TO US!!

Being yourself is the most selfless thing you can do! And of course it comes with a tall order of unlearning and shedding all the programs that have been layered on top of who you really are:

😬 Inherited “shoulds”
🥸 Internalized beauty standards
🤓 External definitions of success

Tuning out of the noise of the outside world and into your intuition is the most radical act of rebellion you can take. The more you chose to let go of who you are not and let yourself be who you are, the more you give permission to those around you to do the same. WE’RE ALL HERE TO REMIND EACH OTHER OF HOW AMAZINGLY POWERFUL WE ARE...JUST BY BEING US! ISN’T THAT THE COOLEST?!

So really, thank you for being YOU.

Hello sweet juicy world of Instagram!! (I’m here to remind myself that the world is exactly as sweet and juicy as I decide it is!) 💚

After releasing my book last month, I retreated into a bit of an anxiety cave, feeling like I should be doing more, creating more, sharing vulnerably more, promoting the book more. Everything was coming from a place of inner “should-ness,” so I rebelled by not doing much of anything at all.

I wrote this little reminder to myself the other night...reminding myself I actually LIKE making things. I like writing! I like drawing! I like sharing my creations! The layers of “should” that are surrounding my genuine creative impulses are like b***y traps (hehe bo***es) set by my inner critic. It’s super normal and super annoying at the same time! The only thing I can think to do is shine a light on it, which in my experience is the only effective way to work with any shadow pulling me into the depths of some “I’m not good enough” program. Not today, Satan! I am fun and creative and “enough” doesn’t even begin to cover it! I am what I am and I have no reason to hide.

May your day be full of tiny little moments that remind you of your YOUness 💚 (What reminder does your inner child/artist need today?)
