Parish Community Preschool started in the Parish Village Gym back in the early 70's by a group of parents who wanted education and socializing for their children. To this day the Parish Community Preschool continues this goal with just as much dedication and pride. Parish Community Preschool educates 3 and 4 year olds kindergarten readiness skills by Ms Amanda and Ms. This includes: colors, shapes
, student's name, numbers, alphabet recognition, socialization and sharing with peers through hands on learning experiences and play. Holidays are celebrated with family events, such as, carving with dads, a Thanksgiving feast that we make in class, Christmas with Santa, Valentines Day, Easter with the Easter bunny, and St. Through out the year, community workers visit the children that includes the Fire Dept, Police officers, Operation Life Saver, the ambulance department, and the Parish Librarian reads to the children. With the help of parents, the children have the opportunity to ride a bus to attend field trips to the apple orchards, the Civic Center, and to the Zoo or Fort Ricky. The preschool has a board of parents who help to support the preschool with event ideas and fundraisers to keep our preschool functioning smoothly.
