PEDC, EXPLAINED | WHAT DO WE ACTUALLY DO?

You may see PEDC at a groundbreaking or ribbon-cutting. The work starts well before either one.

We work with employers looking to locate in Paris, help existing companies plan for growth, and connect partners who can address a project’s needs. Our goal is to support jobs, entrepreneurship, investment, and opportunity in Paris and Lamar County.

Have an economic development question you’ve always wanted to ask? Drop it in the comments. It might become the next post in this series.

National Manufacturing Day 🇺🇸
Made in Paris means more than a product coming off a line. It means skilled work, local careers, and companies investing in this community.

On Manufacturing Day, we thank the people and businesses whose work helps make Paris an industrial center for Northeast Texas.

Thank you, Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, for the invitation to share at the Chamber’s first “What’s Next” alongside PJC President Stephen Benson. A highlight for us was sharing the strategic, positive collaboration between the PEDC and PJC.

We enjoyed sharing with your members what the future holds for Paris and the PEDC.

Four years ago this month, we announced that Lionshead Specialty Tire & Wheel had selected Paris, Texas, for a new location in our Northwest Industrial Park.

The project included plans to develop a 20-acre site with a state-of-the-art facility, creating new jobs right here in Paris.

Today, we’re proud to have Lionshead as part of our business community. Thank you to the Lionshead team for choosing Paris, investing in our community, and creating new opportunities right here at home!

Two years ago, we celebrated the completion of major infrastructure improvements at the Northwest Industrial Park. But the story started even earlier.

In 2022, LionsHead Specialty Tire & Wheel considered Paris for its new location, creating a need for infrastructure improvements within the park. That need set PEDC on an 18-month journey to secure $1.3 million in federal funding, paired with local investment from PEDC and the City of Paris.
The result was an extension of J. Eagan Street, improvements to 34th Street and a new deceleration lane from Loop 286.

Two years after celebrating the project's completion, its impact continues. LionsHead now employs 23 people in Paris, the Northwest Industrial Park supports nearly 200 jobs, and more than 45 acres remain ready for future development.

It’s a reminder that economic development is a long game. Today's investments create the infrastructure, opportunities, and jobs that can shape Paris for years to come.
