Congratulations, Adam Hartman! Adam has been awarded the 2022 Academic Scholarship of $500 from the Episcopal Day School and Quest Academy. A Quest alumnus, having participated in Quest camps and ACT courses, Adam was with us during our inaugural summer of 2016! To compete for the scholarship, applicants had to be a former or current participant in programs at Quest or EDS and submit an essay describing how our community benefits from educational enrichment. We are proud of you Adam, and good luck at OSU!

Dear Quest Families,

We are presently working on the Quest summer schedule. Quest All Day is presently full. We will have room in the afternoons for camps, and that schedule will be released soon. Our office manager is contacting parents one at a time to reserve places in the whole day program. We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we do our best to accommodate all of the students. Thank you for trusting us with your kids!

Sincerely,

Katharine Bryan, EdD

Dear EDS and Quest families,

We hope everyone is staying safe and doing ok during these hectic times. Doing "ok" may not seem like the best vocabulary, typically, I would say "doing well," but, being that things are so fluid and uneasy, I find it quite positive to be doing "ok." So, here we are, once again moving forward with opening the Episcopal Day School and Quest. This opening is, for now, for children of essential workers only. We are hoping to move into once again providing music lessons, tutorials, and Quest classes but do not presently have information for those. However, we are offering virtual piano lessons and virtual tutorials. If you are interested in those for your student, please let us know.

As far as daily procedures go, I am listing the expectations we sent for our initial plan to reopen on May 4. Anyone who previously completed the registration form is ready to go. For those who have not yet completed it, please be sure to complete the registration form in order to resume attendance. This will be printed for parents to sign the first day of attendance.

What to expect:

1. Drop off - until restrictions are lifted, all parents will need to plan to pull up in the main parking lot each day for drop off. You will see someone stationed at an outdoor tent. When they signal you, you will walk your child to the tent where you, the parent, will have a thermometer that you have brought with you to take the temperature of the child in front of the staff member. They will then log the temperature and es**rt the child to the building. It is "ok" if parents forget their thermometer, but the school will charge a fee of $10 to do a temperature check. There will be a staff member at the kiosk from 7:30 until 8:30am. For parents dropping off after 8:30am, simply call the office and a staff member will meet you at the kiosk.

2. Lunches and snacks - please send a lunch AND a snack. We are no longer permitted to serve food. If your child comes early, we no longer have cereal, and parents are invited to send something in with them in the mornings if necessary.

3. We are asking that all families donate one of the following: hand sanitizer, disinfectant hand soap, lysol wipes, lysol spray (high need), or spray bottles of disinfectant spray. We would also appreciate cash donations for these items as we will be sanitizing multiple times throughout the day.

4. Pick up procedures - simply call the office when you arrive, and your child will be brought to your car.

5. Illness - no student or staff member may attend if he or she has exhibited any signs of illness within the past 14 days.

6. All parents returning, from this point forward, need to please fill out our new online registration form. This form will be printed for parent signature the first day the student has returned to school.

Lots of love to all of our families and students!

Best wishes to all,

Katharine Bryan, EdD
