Joyland Christian Preschool is located at 800 East Wood Street in the basement of the East Wood church of Christ in Paris, TN. It began under the direction of Mary Lynn Summers in the fall of 1981. Summers handed over the duties to Jan Neal, in 1991. Neal remains there along with co-teacher, Danette Delaney. The two teachers have worked together without teacher

turnover for over 23 years. The preschool’s purpose is to prepare four and five years olds for kindergarten, academically and socially, by providing a structured preschool program. In addition to the preschool curriculum, daily Bible lessons are taught along with Christian principles, helping to set a spiritual foundation for the students. We believe Joyland Christian Preschool to have a good reputation in our community after providing preschool services to hundreds of local families over the years. Final sign off for Ms. Jan☀️ Joyland is a place but more so, Joyland is people. Children, families, teachers, community all make it what is has been and what it will continue to be. Thanks to all our families over my 30 years who trusted us with your most prized treasures, your children. A huge thanks to wonderful co-workers through the years. I could write specific things I appreciated about each one; Laura Bentley, Patty Hart, Nina Cotton, Sue Odom, Gwen Geiger, Lisa Moody, and Joan Barnett. However, today I thank my friend/co-teacher, Danette Delaney, for helping me see this season of life to an end. She has been my right-hand gal! Next week the torch (or school bell) 😉 passes to two capable ladies who will undoubtedly make special memories too in this true Land of Joy!☀️
