🐾 4th Grade Wildcat Assembly! 🐾
Our 4th graders and Mrs. Bankston’s class had a great time at their Wildcat Assembly! ❤️🤍
Our counselors shared important lessons about bullying prevention and drug awareness, helping our students make safe, healthy, and responsible choices. We also celebrated our September Students of the Month as each homeroom teacher recognized their outstanding students! 🌟
The fun continued with a Minute to Win It Spider Toss Challenge! 🕷️ Two students went head-to-head, followed by two teachers competing for bragging rights! There was plenty of excitement and fun for everyone!
We wrapped up our assembly the Wildcat way by singing “Loyal and True!” 🐾
We are proud of our Aikin Wildcats and love seeing them learn, grow, and celebrate together! 💙🤍

❤️💚 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage at PISD! 💚❤️
Tonight, our Aikin ESL students participated in the Hispanic Heritage Program, sharing their knowledge of Hispanic Heritage Month, important historical facts, and the reasons we celebrate this special time of year.
For about a month, these students have worked hard to memorize their lines and prepare for this special event. We are so proud of the courage and confidence they showed as they stood in front of an audience of peers, parents, families, and PISD staff to share what they have learned. They did an outstanding job! 🌟
A special thank-you to Mrs. Lowry for the time, dedication, and hard work she puts into preparing her students for this experience. We also want to thank the parents and families who supported their children and helped them practice at home. It truly takes a team!
We are incredibly proud of these students for representing Aikin so well and sharing the beauty, history, and importance of Hispanic heritage with our PISD community! ❤️🤍💚

📚☕ NOW SERVING… A LOVE OF READING! 📖✨

The menu was full of adventure, laughter, and imagination at Aikin Elementary’s Annual Book Tasting Café! 🍽️📚

Aikin’s library was transformed into a cozy café where students got to “sample” a variety of books and discover their next favorite read! ❤️

📖 This year’s delicious literary menu included:

🚀 Space
🐶🐱 Dogs and Cats
⭐ 5-Star Reads
🎮 Video Games
😂 Giggle Books
🐘 Books by Mo Willems

From exploring outer space to giggling through silly stories, there was something for every reader to enjoy!

The best part? Students were encouraged to try something NEW and discover that sometimes the best adventures are found between the pages of a book! 📚💙

👏 A BIG thank you to the Aikin staff and volunteers who helped serve up this wonderful experience and make reading so much FUN!
