Congratulations to 8th grader Ellie Doughman, BCMS’s Colonel Award winner, who was recognized tonight at the Board of Education meeting! 💛

Ellie’s kindness, maturity, and willingness to help others make her a positive presence in our classrooms. She consistently goes above and beyond in her work and leads through the example she sets each day.

Honoring Service. Recognizing Sacrifice.

Bourbon County Middle School is honored to invite our community’s veterans to our Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Veterans Breakfast | 8:30–9:15 a.m.
BCMS FFA and Builders Club will host breakfast for all veterans.

Recognition Ceremony | 9:30 a.m. | BCMS Gym
Our student leadership group will lead a tribute featuring guest speaker USMC Captain Matthew Koch and performances by the BCMS Choir.

Please join us as our students honor the courage, commitment, and service of those who have served our nation. We encourage families to share this invitation with the veterans in their lives.

Making connections and sharing ideas at BCMS! 💬

While reading The Diary of Anne Frank, students used a hexagonal thinking activity to connect dialogue, characters, and events. Using literary standards to guide their thinking, they explained how the pieces fit together and supported their ideas through discussion.

BCMS families, join us for Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, October 22, from 5:30–7:00 p.m.! ❤️💛

Students will practice being effective communicators as they share their learning, celebrate their progress, and explain their goals to the people who support them most—you!

Sixth and seventh graders will lead their family conferences, while eighth graders will share about themselves and their academic goals as they begin their Defense of Learning.

📚 Our Scholastic Book Fair will also be open during conferences!
