We had a farrier come out recently and trim the hooves on both the horse and our pet pig. I was so very pleased with his services! If you are in need of a farrier for any of your animals, contact Daniel. He is very reasonably priced and does fantastic work!

This is an AMAZING class! All students role play as medical students. They will dissect major organs, perform many experiments, keep a medical journal, sculpt clay models of the organs and so much more as they learn the major body systems.

Deadline to register: July 30th (or
Sooner if spots are filled)

Who : 5th- 8th grade (we will open in lower elementary class if there is demand)

When :  First and third Wednesdays 1:00-3:00

Where: FireFly Meadows (Paris, Tennessee)

What advice would you give to a new homeschool mom just starting out this coming year?

I don't usually openly share things like this, but there is so much humor in all of it, I decided to share.
The day before our end of the year celebration I was cleaning the log cabin. A bumble bee was stuck in some fishing line. She was struggling and crying out for help "My hive! My hive!" I rushed to her aid, captured her in a cup and was taking her outside to release as the triumphant hero. Suddenly,
I tripped coming out of the cabin..heard a ton of snapping and ended up on the ground. I don't know how I tripped but I suspect that spider I saw who was looking at me suspiciously earlier.
So there I am, flat on my back, knowing I had probably broken my ankles. My son-in-law was in back of the cabin w**d eating. Immediately, our dog Pepper (who is pretty big) straddled me looking alert (sweet dog was protecting me...but all I could think was "please don't slobber on me"). Everytime there was a lull in the w**d eating I tried to call my son in law.... but it was in vain, no response...he had earbuds in. Oh curse you Ariana Grande and your hypnotic melodies !
My daughter finally rode her bike down to the cabin and found me... a shadow of myself fallen to soon in life. She alerted my son-in-law and my hubby was called.... my hubby & son-in-law gallantly carried me to the car to go to the ER ...but not before my daughter noticed a bee flying and declared "Don't worry mom, the bee looks unharmed "😅
I had saved the day, but at what personal cost? Long story short.... 4 broken bones ...2 in each foot/ankle.
Well.... no one can say we don't take care of our pollinators at FireFly Meadows😅
