Dear District 95 Families and School Community,

We are writing to share an important update regarding the upcoming school year. To ensure our facilities are fully ready for learning, the first half day of school is being delayed until Friday, August 21.

During our final preparation and facility checks, we identified a few adjustments needed to ensure our geothermal HVAC systems are fully operational and ready to provide a comfortable learning environment for students and staff.

Additional time is needed to:

Make sure every classroom and common area is prepared and ready for our students and staff when they return. We want to take the extra time now to ensure the buildings are operating as they should and providing a high-quality learning environment.

Continue monitoring humidity levels and completing the necessary adjustments to help maintain the right conditions throughout the building. The additional time will allow our facilities team to thoroughly check each area, make needed adjustments, and have everything ready for the start of the school year.

What You Need to Know

Open House will be on Thursday August 20

New First Half Day of School: Friday, August 21

New First Full Day of School: Monday, August 24

District 95 students that attend Paris High School will start as planned on August 12.

We know that schedule changes create childcare and logistical challenges for families, and we did not make this decision lightly. However, welcoming our school community back into an environment that is thoroughly vetted, clean, and safe is a standard we will not compromise on.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support as we complete this critical work. We look forward to welcoming our students and staff back on August 21 for a healthy, successful school year.

🦷 This would be an easy proof of dental for students! Call and book your appointment. 🦷

⭐️ District #95 will not be having Edgar County Dental Clinic coming to the schools this year! You will need to book an appointment for your child to be seen at a dentist office or Edgar County Dental Clinic!

What does your District #95 preschool student need to start school????
1. A backpack with a zipper and their name on it (may be written with a marker or have a tag on inside or outside) that is at least 12 inches wide and 15 inches tall. (See photo below)

2. A change of clothes to be kept at school. Shirt, pants or shorts, underwear, and socks in a bag with the students first and last name on it. If your child has potty accidents at home, please send more outfits, as you know best.

3. If your child wears pull-ups, you may send in one bag of pull ups and wipes at a time that we will keep at school for them to use as needed. Please write their first and last name on the bag.

The school does not typically have clothes for students to borrow or pull-ups to give. We will call parents/caregivers if a child needs any of the above mentioned items to bring for their child during the school day.
