Aloha. It means hello, but it also means goodbye 😢

Mrs. Henderson and I cannot express how much we’ve enjoyed this class this year. You parents have been wonderful and supportive also ❤️

It is hard to let them go, but we cannot wait to watch them grow! Please keep in touch and have a wonderful summer break!

Because I failed them on the volcano snack 😅 I took Ian up on his suggestion to do the mento/Coke eruption today. Clearly, I thought the bottle was going to explode 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 but the kids loved it 🙂

Today we got our toolboxes of Knowledge. In these toolboxes are just SOME of the things we have learned this year and will be taking to 1st grade! We got our hard hats to protect all of that knowledge.

I am very proud of how far each and everyone one of this kiddos came from where they started in their learning (and sometimes behavior) journey. ❤️🎉

We also cleaned out our desks today and read Last Day Blues. It’s all getting so bittersweet because I’m excited to see what they can do, but I selfishly do not want to let them go to another grade ❤️😩

I’ve done The Floor is Lava math activity before, but this class really wasn’t as pumped as I anticipated 🤷🏼‍♀️ can’t win them all, right? 😂

I did have some go getters and we had some fun hopping over the lava to get to our next math obstacle.

Funny note: They asked me if I made a volcano snack after rotation. Can’t blame them… that would be classic me, but no, I didn’t 🤦🏼‍♀️ However, I did buy them ice cream cups from the snack bar for participating. Clearly, they had forgotten that by snack time 😂

Maybe we are all ready for a summer break🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Please send them tomorrow and Thursday morning! We still have more fun things to do and time to spend together ❤️

My first ever “Yes Day” was a success! 🎉 As a teacher, I feel like I spend a lot time saying no or stop. 😅 It weighs on me somedays because I feel like I’m being negative. I saw this classroom idea on Tik Tok and thought it was brilliant. These kiddos have worked hard this year and have been expected to do things academically and behaviorally that aren’t age appropriate:/

This was THEIR day to call the shots! For the most part they did so well handling the chaos of a totally unstructured day!

Ice Cream for breakfast? YES! Pick our own Fun Friday stations (anything we used this year and me not telling them what they can use) YES! Take our shoes off? YES? Chew gum? YES! Can we dance? YES! ( I even threw in a surprise when we danced on our desks!) “Write” on the new computer/tv? YES! Use dry erase markers on the white board? YES! Use Mrs. Wall’s colored sharpies? Yes! Hold the Guinea pigs? Yes! Have a picnic on the floor at lunch and have ice cream? Yes!

This teacher is tired, but it’s a good kind of tired 🙂

Today we reviewed the sound oi/oy make! After a game of Four in a Row with oi/oy words, we put the words on the “snout” we painted because pigs say OInk!

We also got to show and talk about our favorite tOY! 🙂
