A free New World screwworm inspector training is now available to all Texans through AgriLife Learn.

The course covers New World screwworm biology, inspection protocols, reporting and more, and is open to anyone who wants to better understand how to protect their animals. Those who qualify may apply to become a certified New World screwworm inspector through the Texas Animal Health Commission.

Gov. Abbott launched a free online course to certify additional New World Screwworm inspectors across Texas.

This initiative empowers people, & private industry, to inspect & certify livestock movement, ensuring the safety of our cattle, wildlife, & food supply remains secure.

AgriLife Extension has released a new fact sheet to help swine producers prepare for and protect against the potentially devastating New World screwworm.

The fact sheet provides research-based information on risk factors, prevention steps and reporting guidance for the swine industry to respond quickly if cases are suspected.
