A PROUD WILDCAT, A HERO, AND A COMMUNITY LEADER!

We were honored to welcome Reginald B. Hughes, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club and proud Paris High School Class of 1986 graduate, as our Honorary Captain for the coin toss at Thursday night's Wildcat football game! 🏈

Mr. Hughes proudly served our country for more than 30 years in the United States Navy, rising to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CWO2). During his distinguished military career, he served aboard U.S. Navy ships and participated in operations during the Persian Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom, and conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

After more than three decades of honorable military service, Mr. Hughes continues to make a difference right here in our community through his leadership with the Boys & Girls Club.

October is National Principals Month, and we're celebrating the outstanding leaders who make a difference across Paris ISD every single day! 🐾

Today, we're shining the spotlight on Mr. Chris Vaughn, Principal of Paris High School! 🎉

With an incredible 36 years in education, including 21 years as an administrator, Mr. Vaughn brings decades of experience, knowledge, and dedication to Wildcat Nation!

Leading a high school means helping students navigate some of the most important years of their lives—from academic achievements and extracurricular activities to preparing for graduation and the exciting opportunities ahead. We are grateful for Mr. Vaughn's leadership and his commitment to supporting our students, teachers, and staff as they work toward success both inside and outside the classroom! 💙

🚁🏈 ANSWERING THE CALL WHEN IT MATTERS MOST! ❤️💙

We had something special planned for Thursday night's Wildcat football game against Ferris — an Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter landing right on our football field! 🚁

But sometimes, being a hero means being needed somewhere else. ❤️

The helicopter was called away to respond to a medical emergency, and while we missed seeing that exciting landing, we were reminded of something far more important — these incredible men and women are always ready to answer the call when lives are on the line!

We were still honored to welcome Air Evac Lifeteam 139 Flight Paramedic Bill Cross, who presented the ceremonial game ball to Paris High School Principal Chris Vaughn at midfield! 🏈👏

Air Evac Lifeteam crews work seven days a week, providing critical emergency medical transportation and lifesaving care to communities like ours.

💙 THANK YOU, Air Evac Lifeteam 139, for being part of our Wildcat Friday Night Lights experience and, more importantly, for everything you do to keep our communities safe!

🚁 The helicopter may not have made it to Wildcat Stadium, but it was exactly where it needed to be — answering the call to help someone in need! ❤️

Behind every successful organization are people who keep things moving, anticipate what needs to happen next, and make sure countless details come together seamlessly. For Paris ISD, Tammy Harrel, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, is one of those people. Her organization, dependability, and willingness to take on whatever is needed make her an invaluable part of the district’s leadership team. While much of her work happens behind the scenes, her impact reaches throughout Paris ISD.

Superintendent Althea Dixon shared just how important Tammy is to the work of the district:

“Every effective team needs someone who keeps the vision moving forward. Tammy Harrel is that person—organized, thoughtful, creative, intelligent, and remarkably productive. She keeps me on task, anticipates what I need before I even ask, researches information, and somehow remains calm and gracious through it all. Tammy doesn’t simply assist me—she supports our entire Board with the same dedication and care. She is not just an exceptional secretary; she is an invaluable partner, a trusted thinker, and truly one of the people who you literally can talk to about anything, and she will find a way to make it work.”

Whether she is supporting the superintendent, assisting the Board of Trustees, researching information, coordinating details, or helping solve an unexpected challenge, Tammy approaches each responsibility with professionalism and a genuine desire to help others. Her ability to remain calm, think ahead, and find solutions makes her someone others know they can depend on.

Tammy’s work is a reminder that leadership does not always happen in the spotlight. Sometimes, it is found in the person quietly making sure everyone else has what they need to succeed. For her dedication, creativity, servant heart, and unwavering commitment to Paris ISD, we are proud to recognize Tammy Harrel as this month’s Paris Neighbors Shining Star.

A huge shoutout to Jey Yancey and Guaranty Bank & Trust for treating our press box crew to a delicious meal at Thursday night's Wildcat football game! 🏈

The sandwiches and all the fixings were just what our coaches and press box staff needed to keep things running on game night! And can we talk about those PIES?! 🥧😍 They were definitely a crowd favorite!

We are so thankful for community partners like Guaranty Bank & Trust who continue to show up and support our Wildcats! Your generosity and kindness never go unnoticed!

ANOTHER GAME. ANOTHER DISTRICT WIN. ANOTHER REASON TO BE PROUD OF OUR WILDCATS! 💙🤍🐾

Our Paris Wildcats brought the energy, the determination, and the WILDCAT PRIDE Thursday night, taking down Ferris and moving to 3-0 in district play! 💪🏈🔥

But the excitement started BEFORE kickoff! 🙌 It was YOUTH FOOTBALL NIGHT, and our future Wildcats from the Boys & Girls Club had the unforgettable opportunity to lead our varsity Wildcats onto the field! 🏈🐾

Thursday night was extra special for our Paris High School Blue Blazes Band, and we loved every minute of it! 🎶🔥

Our Blue Blazes had some special guests in the stands as our Paris Junior High 8th Grade Band joined them for a night of music, memories, and WILDCAT PRIDE! 💙🤍 We love seeing our future Blue Blazes getting a taste of the excitement of high school football nights!

Our Paris High School Blazettes lit up the field during Thursday night’s halftime performance, and can we just take a moment to talk about those AWESOME NEW UNIFORMS?! 😍💙🤍

These talented young ladies looked absolutely STUNNING as they showed off their new look while delivering another fantastic performance full of energy, precision, and BLAZETTE PRIDE! 💃✨

We love watching these girls shine under the Friday Night Lights (even on a Thursday 😉), and those new uniforms are definitely turning heads!
