Hello Senior Parents! We are reaching that time of the year where final plans will need to get narrowed down. At this point your students should at minimum have:
1) Applied to the college(s) he/she plans to attend, and have been accepted
2) Visited said college(s) and if not, make plans to visit very soon to close out any final questions concerns
3) MOST IMPORTANTLY - Completed the 2026-2027 FAFSA. If this has not been done, it needs to very quickly. Scholarship opportunities not only hinge on this being completed, some can expire if it is not completed in time, leaving you and/or the student owing more
4) IF your student will live on campus, the Housing Application and Deposit will need to have been completed and paid in order to secure a dorm for most places at this time. Contact the school your student plans to attend for more information if this has not been done.
Upcoming FAFSA Workshop opportunities with Mr. Norwood are as follows and are held from 5-6PM in the Bottom of E Building:
Feb 12th, 19th, 26th
You may email Mr. Norwood at [email protected] for additional assistance on completing the FAFSA.

HCHS Seniors have done a tremendous job at completing the FAFSA this season. Early data coming in shows over 42% of students who completed the TN Promise Application have completed the form so far. In order to not get disqualified from possible Tennessee State Government scholarship dollars, students would need to have both theirs, and the parent form completed not later than Jan 1st-15th to remain eligible for state money (excluding the Hope Scholarship).
Mr. Norwood will hold one more FAFSA Workshop prior to the Christmas Break next Thursday December 11th from 5-6PM in the Bottom of E Building.
