Hi Paramus friends and neighbors,
I’m excited to share that I’m running for re-election to the Paramus Board of Education. This is an important time for our district, with projected increases in student population, shifts in technology, and ongoing teacher shortages. Navigating these challenges requires strategic thinking and dedicated work.
I’m committed to finding solutions that will support student success and strengthen our community. To learn more about my focus and vision for our schools, please visit my website: https://www.lisaforparamusboe.com.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences, as our district’s vision should represent all of us. Thank you for staying engaged, and I’d be honored to have your support!

Friends and Neighbors in the Paramus Community,
This November, I am seeking reelection to the Paramus Board of Education. Three years ago, you entrusted me with the responsibility of serving our students and community, and I am deeply grateful for that trust. Over the course of my term, I have worked hard to ensure our schools not only meet the needs of today’s students but prepare them for the future. I believe the work we’ve done together has laid a strong foundation, but there is still more to accomplish.
I believe in the power of strong schools and strong communities. Our children deserve the very best—a solid foundation in reading and math, as well as the skills and tools they’ll need to thrive in the future. Whether it’s learning to harness the power of technology, like AI and programming, or developing the critical thinking needed to succeed in an ever-evolving world, we must ensure no student is left behind.
Equally important is ensuring that every student—whether they excel in the classroom, on the field, or in creative pursuits—has the opportunity to grow and succeed. We must recognize the different paths our students take—those who thrive with traditional instruction and those who benefit from a more flexible, individualized approach. Every child deserves to be seen, valued, and supported, no matter how their minds or bodies work.
For the last three years, I’ve worked hard to ensure our schools are strategically set up for success. I analyze the data that measures our achievements and shows where we need to improve. I vocally highlight these areas and, as a member of the board, I work to drive change and accountability. Real leadership doesn’t come from sitting on the sidelines—it comes from rolling up your sleeves, getting involved, and working to ensure that the goals of our community are reflected in the plans for our schools.
This is not a short-term process—the work we do today has a long tail, impacting not just today, but tomorrow and the tomorrows after that. I hope you will trust me for another three years to continue this important work. Please vote for Lisa Hochhauser for the Board of Education (column 3 on the back page of your ballot).

Tonight I was sworn in as a member of the Paramus Board of Education.
Thank you for all of your support!
At times of uncertainty, it is never more apparent as to the value of education. It provides the keys and tools to navigate the future as it races towards us. Education and educators challenge us and help to enlighten us, to bring us together in new ways of understanding each other, the world we live in and ourselves.
I am proud to be a part of the phenomenal team of educators in the Paramus system.
Thank you for your faith and the opportunity to serve.

While the numbers remain unofficial it does appear that I will hold one of the next Board of Education seats. I am so grateful for the support of friends both those in Paramus who voted and those who reached across the miles and the years to share your friendship and support. So many of you did so much, I will reach out to you al tomorrow but didn’t want to sleep without thanking you.
The trust and faith that you put in me with your vote and your support is truly humbling.
Tonight and tomorrow we will look at many elections - local, state and in other states and we will wonder what is to come. We may yet be happy by some. But we know that the true work begins tomorrow, when we rebuild community and we learn to work together.
There is a divided mandate here both in what people wanted on the board and in other elections. My goals remain strong - to provide our district the tools to let each constituent - student, parent, teacher, staff and Adminstrator thrive. I stand with a strong board and amazing people like each of you. Together we are strong and we are kind. With a combination like that - we can move mountains and maintain humanity.
My love to you all!

Hi, I am Lisa Hochhauser.
My wife and I moved to Paramus over 20 years ago and we are very grateful to be raising our two daughters, Jenna and Jamie, in the Paramus Public School system and the Paramus community.
As a parent and a six year PTA President and Vice President, I am highly committed to this district and have worked hard to support our students and foster community amongst our families and faculty. I haven’t done this alone, but alongside many of you, both parents and faculty. We’ve served on committees to share the community goals for education in the district and created deeper connections through social activities at our schools for both students and parents alike. We’ve worked to raise funds for scholarships and for families in crisis and we’ve held each other as we have cried over tragedy and supported each other as we navigated unprecedented changes.
Together we have built something amazing in this district. Do we have more to do? Of course, but I am confident with a strong vision, long-term goals, an open mind and hard work, together we can achieve anything.
Please consider voting for me tomorrow – Column three for BOE. I promise that I will work hard for this district and for the education of our students and the wellbeing of ALL of our Paramus Schools Community.
Sincerely,
Lisa Hochhauser
