When students feel supported, they’re better prepared to learn and grow.
At Wirtz Elementary School, Mrs. Alejandra, school counselor, and Mrs. Ayala, school social worker, host Lunch Bunch—a welcoming space where students participate in social-emotional games and activities that help them understand big, uncomfortable feelings and build healthy coping skills.
By learning how to recognize and manage their emotions, students strengthen the skills they need to navigate challenges, build connections, and focus on their academic growth.
Because supporting students’ mental health is an important part of supporting the whole child.
