Our last day of school is Thursday.

Important information regarding the rest of the year.

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 6th at 2:30 will be kindergarten graduation and elementary awards.

Wednesday the 7th at 2:30 will be MS/HS awards.

On the afternoon of our last day, Thursday, June 8th, we are doing a wacky games field day! This is the entire school, K-12.

1. There will be water games and students should bring a change of dry clothes if they are riding the bus home. No one wants to be uncomfortable in wet clothes for that long.

2. Parents are invited to join us! They can help run games, be a part of the audience, bring in fun little treats or goodies, and they can then just take their own students home right from the event that day.

3. Students will probably have a lot of items to bring home after they empty out their lockers, so it may be a good idea to pick them up with room in your vehicle for extra stuff.

Last but not least Track and Field uniforms need to be washed and turned in ASAP.

Our Junior High track team went to regionals last night in St. Ignace. Five medals were brought back to the school. Austin Guthrie brought one home for 4th place in the 1600m. Keagan Davis brought one home for 4th place in shot put. Malina Mills brought one home for 6th place in the 100m and Evelyn Mittlestat brought two home. One for 4th place in the long jump and 2nd place in the 400m. Congratulations Rockets!

We had a very successful evening with our Alumni vs Students basketball game.

Here is a breakdown of funds raised
Admission donations- $326.00
Food- $134.50
Bribes- $695.00

For a grand total of $1,155.50

Thank you to everyone that came out and supported us. Thank you to the alumni and rocket basketball teams, Josh McLellen of Tahquamenon pizza for donating the pizzas, thank you to the Jacques family, and board president Mr. Pat Rowley for officiating.

Also a big thank you to everyone who came out for the Science Fair. Our kids did some great projects this year.

As always we are proud of our rockets and this community.

This is a great example of all the great things we are doing here at Whitefish!!! Many thanks to Michigan Department of Education, MARESA, EUPISD, Bosch, Ms. Imhoff and the students for the great interaction regarding our greenhouses!!

Also Mr. Sonny for feeding them a delicious lunch with our showcased veggies!!!

Track meet for middle school tomorrow at Pickford. Last track meet for varsity, conference at Pickford on Thursday. Both meets start at 4 pm.

A big congratulations to Seth Mills. He qualified for state finals on June 3 for both discus and shot put.

Only 11 school days left after today. We have a busy schedule ahead of us. Here is a list of some important events.

May 24th- Science Fair 5:00 PM Alumni game to follow. At the game we will have a small concession consisting of pizza, water and some candy.
May 26th and May 29th- No School
May 26th- Senior Graduation 6:00 PM
June 2nd- Elementary Field Trip
June 6th- Kindergarten Graduation and Elementary Awards 2:30
June 7th- MS/HS awards 2:30
June 8th- Last day of school and it is a full day. If the weather is nice there will be a day of field events and water games. A change of clothes recommended.

We did k-12 tie dye yesterday. Shirts are coming home today in plastic ziplock bags with care instructions. We had hung them up to dry, but due to rain they are still a bit damp. They all turned out fantastic! 😀

There will be no Varsity Track Practice today. Middle school practice until 5 p.m.. Varsity State qualifying meet is Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Munising.
Next week: Middle school conference on May 23 in Pickford (4 pm); High school conference May 25 in Pickford (4 pm)

Today we finished our Coed volleyball season. We ended up beating Grand Marais in 5 sets and lost to OCS in 5 sets. We improved immensely over the season!! Now we root on our track teams!! Go Rockets!!

Tomorrow is a very exciting day!! We are dropping our student raised fish family at the river mouth in the morning. From there, the students will be heading to the Upper Falls for the annual bucket brigade at NOON. I do not know how many fish will be released this year but we will need all hands on deck.
