HomeTech’s Principal/Superintendent joined other independent study schools, Charter Schools Development Center and California Charter Schools Association at the State Capitol on Tuesday to advocate for continued Community Schools funding for schools like ours.

Our incredibly creative Maryann Gilmore has gone above and beyond in painstakingly hand crafting each of these amazing decorative flowers for our school’s prom this Saturday!! 68 total!! 💐🌺🌼🤩❤️

If you are a youth aged 12-17, come hang out with The Crew! We will be hosting a youth event at the Terrain Park Climbing Center in Chico 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 7. Join us for free rock climbing.

HomeTech's Paradise Outreach class shines brightly on Chico news, showcasing a heartwarming partnership with PRPD, as these dedicated students spread kindness throughout the community, leaving every place they visit a little brighter than they found it.

Some of our juniors and seniors participated in our field trip today to the local California Conservation Corps camp at the Magalia Fire Center where they toured the wild land firefighting and culinary facilities. Students listened to the current firefighting trainees and employees talk about the huge benefits of the program including a steady paycheck while getting firefighting certifications, EMT training, insurance benefits, and the camaraderie of living with and working in such a close knit group. The culinary program offers the same paid benefits while training, togetherness with coworkers and Food Handler and Manager ServSafe certifications for those who finish the requirements. Such great opportunities for our local community of graduating seniors!! 🌲

HomeTech 7th graders skated around geometry today at CalSkate! They calculated perimeter and area of the composite shapes in the skating rink. A special thanks to our teachers, Danya Reynolds and Yessenia De La Torre, who led these students through doing real life math.

Our Cultural Cuisine students this week did an absolutely exceptional job not only making potato gnocchi from scratch but also making fresh pesto and ragù sauces. Furthermore, the room was spotless by the time class ended. All of this IN ONLY 2 HOURS!! Students and staff enjoyed the delicious culinary creations and there were no leftovers! Bravo chefs!👏🏼🍝 🇮🇹
