Our newest MBA students kicked off their UNLV journey by learning about the program, meeting their classmates, and building connections with the faculty, staff, and peers who will be part of their MBA experience.

Some lessons can only be learned beyond the classroom.

Last fall, our UNLV Executive MBA cohort traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile, for their international seminar. What they brought back went far beyond a passport stamp.

From Santiago’s innovation ecosystem to the rich business culture of Buenos Aires, students experienced two of Latin America’s most dynamic economies up close. They were challenged to lead differently, listen more deeply, and think about opportunity in more complex global contexts.

A few reflections from the experience:

→ Global business requires cultural fluency, not just financial acumen
→ Emerging markets reveal leadership lessons textbooks cannot fully capture
→ The cohort bonds built abroad continue well beyond graduation

This summer, local high school students got a behind-the-scenes look at the science of marketing.

Assistant Professor Kaiyang Wu partnered with UNLV Early Outreach to host a Consumer Behavior Summer Camp, where students explored the science behind consumer decision-making.

Throughout the program, students learned how attention, perception, and persuasion influence everyday choices while engaging with the latest consumer behavior research. By connecting these concepts to the brands, advertisements, and products they encounter every day, students discovered how marketing shapes the world around them.

Thank you to Professor Wu and UNLV Early Outreach for inspiring curiosity and introducing students to the exciting world of consumer behavior.
