A paper by Arsalan Mirsadraei (Architecture) has been accepted to the 2026 Imagining Creative Worlds symposium, held online November 11–12.

"Technological Paradigm Transitions in Architectural Practice: Evaluating the Transformative Potential of Artificial Intelligence"

Architects have switched tools before, from drawing by hand to computers and then to 3D building models. His paper asks whether AI is the next big shift, and which parts of design it will change most.

AIAS UNLV Chapter members and others visited one of the most anticipated restaurants on The Strip last week at The Cosmopolitan: The Corner Store. For some students, it was their second time seeing the project under construction. This time it was nearly finished and stunningly beautiful (Designed by Moser Architecture Studio and Rockwell Group). Thank you to PENTA and Design Integration Manager Jina Zavala, NCARB, AIA (UNLV SoA Alumna), and Jaewoo Lee, Project Manager for leading this construction site visit! UNLV Architecture Alumni Recognition

The UNLV School of Architecture congratulates alumnus Daniel Joseph Chenin, FAIA, founder and principal of Las Vegas–based Daniel Joseph Chenin, Ltd., on being recognized by Forbes in two of its 2026 residential architecture lists:

America’s Top 200 Residential Architects 2026
America’s Best-in-State Residential Architects 2026 – Nevada

The annual Forbes architecture lists recognize residential practices from across the country, with firms evaluated through the publication’s Architecture System of Evaluation and a regionally diverse advisory board. The methodology places particular emphasis on architecture that responds to its local environment, culture, resources, and craftsmanship.

Chenin earned his undergraduate degree from UNLV in 2002 and returned to complete his graduate studies in 2005. His international practice is recognized for an integrated approach to architecture, interiors, and landscape, with work rooted in the relationship between design, place, material, and environment.

Congratulations to Daniel and the entire Daniel Joseph Chenin, Ltd. team on this national recognition and for continuing to represent UNLV Architecture and Las Vegas on a national stage.

The Hospitality Design Studio at UNLV is a truly special place for architectural research and design exploration. Students can look out the window and see the iconic Las Vegas Strip, then turn around and engage with guest critics who have shaped projects across the city and around the world.

Dr. Glenn NP Nowak casts a wide net around the concept of hospitality—exploring how design influences experience, community, wellness, entertainment, and human connection. Just as importantly, he brings together an incredible cast of practitioners, scholars, and industry leaders who generously mentor and inspire the next generation of design professionals.

The result is a studio culture where curiosity, creativity, and real-world expertise come together to imagine a more hospitable future.
