MSUAA Dog Sledding Tour - After our dog sledding adventure we headed over to Tahquamenon Falls for lunch at the Tahquamenon Brewery and a snow shoe hike led by MSU alum Theresa Neal '05. Theresa showed us the different types of snow shoes and guided us through the snow covered trails to the mostly frozen falls. Fun was had by all!

MSU Alumni Association Dog Sledding Tour at Nature's Kennel - And off we go! We covered 10 miles on pristine state owned land in the Upper Peninsula. While traveling through the snow it is amazingly quiet and you are able to take in the beauty that is Michigan. Some of us had the opportunity to see a wolf cross our path!

MSUAA Dog Sledding Tour - we have arrived at Chamberlin's Ole Inn and are settled in and ready to start our adventure tomorrow. 2 other MSU Mushers have arrived and one is even cross country skiing on Lake Manistique. Having a ball so far!

MSUAA Dog Sledding Tour - we had the pleasure of hearing from MSU alums Ed and Tasha Stielstra (owners of Nature's Kennel) speak about their life passion of raising Alaskan Husky race dogs. Ed and Tasha also race dogs and Ed has participated in 8 Iditarod races. Ed said his plan in college was to be a doctor but after an experiencing race dogs his life plan changed. Their love and concern for their dogs is very strong, so much so, that Ed withdrew from the Iditarod this year due to poor race conditions. Next step....our shot at mushing our own teams!
