We were very fortunate to have Prevention Specialist Monique Osborne from BCOE spend the past 4 Wednesdays with us in Physical Education. She taught our students about brain development, the effects of alcohol, drugs, and to***co on that development and the greater pull addiction can have on brains the younger you are. We also learned about the very real dangers of v**e products, what chemicals are in such products, and the horrible effects they have on our lungs. One such example was a 16 year old boy who was only va**ng for one year, and had to have a double lung transplant. The surgeon said he had never seen damage to a lung like this before. The consistency of his lung was similar to that of a rubber tire! We learned that the ni****ne content of some of the latest v**e products contain the equivalent amount of ni****ne as 400 ci******es! Please follow up with your kids about what they learned, and know that we are here to support them if this is something they have been struggling with. The to***co industry has been aggressively marketing these products toward our kids. As teenagers grow, they begin to take risks. Let's help our kids to take healthy risks, not ones that will negatively impact them potentially for the rest of their lives.

In order to be on the Principal's list at Paradise Junior High School you have to be motivated, dedicated, hard working, and complete the semester with a 4.0 GPA. This is an extreme honor. Great job Bobcats. You earned it!!!
