Grand Master West has been a Hapkido Black Belt since 1967 and is currently President and Chief Instructor of the United States Korean Martial Arts Federation (USKMAF) and is Vice-president of the Korea Kido Association for Hapkido operations in America. Our Adult and Teen students really appreciate the difference between training at our school and standard exercise programs. Classes are designed specifically for Teens and Adults at this time. Our comprehensive course introduces the student to the mental and philosophical aspects of the Martial Arts of Hapkido. Not only will we get you in great shape and teach you practical self-defense, but through this ancient philosophy, you will reduce your stress, strengthen your mind and develop your spirit.

At our school, everything we teach is reality based. We work very hard to insure that most any situation you might encounter is covered in the classroom under very safe learning conditions, so you will be prepared. Women find our program an excellent art for self-defense. Hapkido relies on knowledge and movement, rather than strength to complete techniques. The size of the person is irrelevant. Consequently, a 220 lb. attacker is at the mercy of a 110 lb. trained practitioner. The reason our program is so successful is because we make the classes fun and exciting. We learned a long time ago that if people are having fun, they learn much faster. For your first class you should wear something comfortable, we recommend sweat pants and a long or short sleeve tee-shirt. Our school also provides changing rooms if you want to change at the school. Make sure you drink water before your class to keep hydrated.
