This is a very good read...

One major focus of Adult Education is educating English language learners, with a focus on not only language acquisition, but also workforce readiness skills and delivering integrated English literacy and civics education.

English language learners are important to the job market.

Of the 2 million immigrants that enter the U.S. every year, about half have limited access to jobs, job training and other post-secondary education because of their low English literacy skills. The number of working-age immigrants is projected to increase to 38.5 million by 2035[ii]. We must train and educate these adults by increasing their English language proficiency, improving their basic skills and helping them achieve a high school diploma or equivalent, so that they are prepared to join and contribute to the future workforce.

Coming to Garnett in August - Mental Health class

We see people every day that battle with some type of mental
health. Whether we recognize it or not do we understand what
they are going through? In this class, we will look at eight (8)
issues that people have struggled with regarding mental health.
Some topics are anxiety disorder, chronic pain, substance abuse, and depression. What are the signs and how can we help them?
