🍼💜 UA’s September Service Project: Diaper Drive! 💜🍼

All month long, UA is collecting diapers and Pull-Ups to support the Junior League of Panama City’s Diaper Bank and local families in need!

Their greatest needs right now are:
🩵 Size 4 diapers
🩵 Size 6 diapers
🩵 4T/5T Pull-Ups

But ALL sizes are welcome! We can even accept open packages and loose diapers, so those extras your child has outgrown can absolutely be put to good use. 🙌

Send donations to school throughout the month of September and help us make a BIG impact for some of our community’s littlest members! 💕🦅

Our 5th grade scientists put their knowledge of potential and kinetic energy into action! 🔬⚡️

Students designed and built their own paddle boats, then used rubber bands to power them across the water. 🚤🌊 Along the way, they explored how stored potential energy can be transformed into kinetic energy to create motion.

We love seeing science come to life through hands-on learning! 🧪💡

🎵 Beat vs. Rhythm! 🎵

Our students have been diving into the difference between beat and rhythm! 🥁

We’ve been moving, clapping, listening, and practicing to understand that the beat is the steady pulse that keeps the music moving, while rhythm is the pattern of sounds and silences that happens on top of that beat.

Students have also been working in groups to compose their own rhythm patterns, then practice and perform them together! 👏🎶 It’s been a great way to build musical skills while also developing creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

Learning music by creating, collaborating, and making music together! ❤️🎵

Come out and help us kick off the season by filling the stands and cheering on our Eagles as they take on some tough competition. We can't wait to see our athletes showcase all of their hard work!

🎉 Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Shannon Stem, University Academy's Music Teacher and Musical Theatre Director, on being named to Yamaha's 2026 "40 Under 40" list!

This prestigious national recognition honors 40 outstanding music educators under the age of 40 who are making a lasting impact through innovation, leadership, and excellence in music education. Educators selected for this honor are recognized for inspiring students, strengthening their school communities, and advancing the future of music education across the country.

We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Stem for this well-deserved achievement. Her passion for music, dedication to her students, and commitment to creating meaningful performance opportunities have helped build a thriving music program here at University Academy. From engaging elementary music classes to an exceptional middle school musical theatre program, her influence can be seen in the confidence, creativity, and growth of our students every day.

As we wrapped up the final two days of inservice, our teachers were once again treated to some amazing meals thanks to the generosity of our community partners!

A huge thank you to Allstate Construction for providing a delicious Chicken Salad Chick lunch and to Carr, Riggs & Ingram for treating our staff to a wonderful lunch from Cahall's. 🍽️

Your kindness and support helped fuel our team as they prepared to welcome students back for an incredible school year. We are so grateful for businesses that invest in our faculty and believe in the mission of University Academy.
