Deer Point Elementary School Where students and staff are hooked on learning! Welcome to Deer Point Elementary School.

We are excited to have you as part of our school family and encourage you to join us by becoming actively involved in creating a positive learning environment and celebrating our success along the way. There are many opportunities in which you may become involved: A-FIT (Angler-Family Involvement Team), SAC (School Advisory Council), and volunteering in classrooms or with special projects…we love

our volunteers! Believing that all of our students will be a success, we will focus on learning for all, student safety, responsibility, and respect. Together we can make the difference for the students who attend Deer Point Elementary School. We will work to develop model citizens through the use of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and our school-wide expectations. CAST is a school wide acronym for Control yourself, Act respectfully, Show citizenship and Take responsibility. We are ready to prove it…we are excited to have the opportunity to show it…and we are confident in our collective abilities.

If you’re tuning in for the Miss America competition this week, join us as we cheer on an Angler Alumni! Ruby Tilghman was selected as Miss Alabama earlier this year where she graduated from the University of Alabama in May. She has already been accepted into medical school there as well!

Ruby has always been a shining star and she is off to a great start as her week at Miss America kicks off! She was just named a finalist for the Miss America Quality of Life Award for Outstanding Community Service!

We are so proud of Ruby and all that she is accomplishing to serve the community around her. She has a heart for service and leadership and we cannot wait to see what she does next!

Our 5th grade scientists put the scientific method into action today during the Penny Lab! 🪙🔬

Students made observations, tested their thinking, and answered questions along the way to earn clues. Their mission? Use the evidence to figure out where the missing goose was hiding! 🪿🔎

Science, problem solving, and a little mystery made for a pretty exciting day of learning! 💚💙

🛎️ Scholars who show improvement in ANY area are given a Catch of the Day pass to celebrate in the office with a chance to ring the bell & a sticker! 🥳

We are so proud of the hard work and determination they show daily!

Our Back to School Bash was a HUGE success, and we loved seeing so many of our Angler families come out and join the fun! From snow cones and bouncy houses to hot dogs and lots of smiling faces, it was the perfect way to celebrate the start of a new school year.

A special thank you to Cook’s Pest Control, Revolt Ministries for providing and cooking more than 400 hot dogs, as well as providing chips and drinks and everyone who helped make this event possible! We are so grateful for our amazing Deer Point community. 💚
