Sometimes, the right opportunity can change the way a young person sees herself.

At Rutherford High School, a CHS Community Partnership School, one student was given the opportunity to become an intern in the RamShack Hub. It was not an immediate success. She faced challenges, received honest feedback, and was given the support and accountability to try again.

She chose to keep going.

Over time, her behavior changed, her confidence grew, and she became a positive presence within the program. Eventually, she was recognized as Intern of the Week.

That is what opportunity can do. When students are surrounded by trusted adults who recognize their strengths and continue believing in their potential, they have room to discover what they are capable of becoming.
