We are very excited to celebrate one of our amazing Bay District Partners, principal Ilea Faircloth of Hiland Park Elementary! She was selected as the recipient of the FSU ElevatEd School Leader Award. Ilea has been instrumental in providing a nurturing environment to grow our FSU interns. Our SCE4891 students are the future of education! Today they helped Emerald and Forgotten Coast Adventures to educate the third graders at Patronis Elementary School about sea turtles, plastic pollution, local birds, and coastal dune lakes. These future educators are excited about hands on learning!

As the Director of The Florida Center for Reading Research, Dr. Patton Terry's work focuses on bridging research and practice to improve literacy outcomes, particularly for vulnerable student populations, including Black children, students with disabilities, and those from low-income backgrounds.
