Move over, Smithsonian! 🏛️✨ Mrs. Smith just turned Surfside Academy into the ultimate National History Museum, and it was a total STEM-tastic blast!

To kick off the USA’s big 250th birthday, our scholars dove deep into the history of Old Glory, tracking every star and stripe from its original design to the 50-star beauty we fly today. 🇺🇸

We had some legendary "guests" in the building, too—from Thomas Jefferson and his Declaration of Independence crew to the iconic Betsy Ross and even the first President himself!

🖋️🎩The vibes were high and the hammers were swinging as students:
🏠 Engineered custom birdhouses

🎨 Designed their own original flags.

🎬 Solved mysteries while watching National Treasure.

🎶 Topped it all off by singing a rousing "Happy Birthday" to the land of the free!

🎂A massive shoutout to Mrs. Smith, Miss Erika and Mr.J for hosting the party of the century and inviting Miss K’s, Mr. Myers’s, and Miss Helm’s classes to join the fun. The whole Academy came together to celebrate our great nation in true Shark style!

Mrs. Smith is making a massive splash as a first-year teacher at Surfside Academy! 🦈✨ She is a dedicated educator who pours her heart into her students every single day, ensuring they feel supported and inspired. 🌊💙
Known for her creativity, Mrs. Smith dives deep into her curriculum by designing innovative STEM activities for every subject and lesson she teaches! 🧪📐 Whether it’s math, science, social studies or reading, she finds a way to make learning an interactive adventure. She is incredibly proud to be a Shark, and the feeling is mutual—Surfside Academy is so honored to have her on the team! 🏫🎉
The excitement doesn’t stop there! 🌊 Recently, Mrs. Smith had the privilege of attending a school board meeting alongside Miss Kathy to accept a $250 teaching scholarship. 🏆💰 This wonderful award will allow her to provide vital literacy enrichment to her classroom, giving her students even more tools to succeed. 📚🦈

Our sharks were back in the "tank" today for some high-energy Physical Education! 🦈 Coach Echols focused on positive movement, independent function, and—most importantly—having a blast! 🏃‍♂️💨
