A walk back in time. 2016 edition.

We reached the sunset of our soccer season this past weekend. And no, there isn’t a filter on that sunset photo.

Digby and his USN and TUSC family/teammates’ season ends with a middle school league championship, an club league championship, and Nationally ranked #7 in 3v3 soccer.

When I moved to Nashville, I lived in a little brownstone apartment right across the street from the Exit/In. I can’t tell you all of the shows that I saw there. But, my first show in Nashville was Todd Snider at the Exit/In. I bought this CD at the show that night.

Two years later when I moved to East Nashville I’d randomly run into him at the Radio Cafe, the Slow Bar, or some house party on the East Side. So many of his songs are part of the soundtrack of my time in Nashville. I’ve been playing him a lot these last few weeks. He was such a talented storyteller and truly an East Nashville Icon. He died (too soon) …before he got old. Rest easy. My Generation knows you weren’t perfect, you were an alright guy!

20 seconds in the life of a soccer coach/dad.

Em snapped these pictures saying she wished she would have videoed us. Apparently we were animated and entertaining.

Collectively we have coached the 25 of the 29 USN 5th grade boys soccer team since they were in 1st grade. If you’ve seen them play, you know they are a special group (15 boys play on their respective soccer club’s 1st team). They don’t get to play together often much these days, but when they do… they are fun to watch.

We’ve now passed the reins off to the USN coaches which have kept them undefeated this season.

This is us trying to be silent on the sidelines.

So this just happened… Digby’s soccer team just walked out with and Inter Miami. His buddy Prem got to walk out with Messi. We lost the match but it was a pretty epic night for these boys.
