Leslie Lynn Hart
October 8, 1954 - November 26, 2025

Leslie Lynn Hart, 71, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on October 8, 1954, in Pampa, Texas, to Charles and Leslie Hart.

From an early age, Lynn showed exceptional musical talent and a deep love for the arts. A gifted pianist and organist, he carried this talent throughout his life.

After graduating from Pampa High School in 1973, He joined the organization UP WITH PEOPLE in Warwick, New York in the summer of 1974. They embarked on an amazing 11-month tour performing at the Dolphinarium Stadium in Piraeus, Greece continuing through the Greek islands and to the West Coast of Italy. Lynn joined a new cast for UWP in Spa, Belgium, and continued touring through most of Europe and northern Africa before returning to the U.S.

Once the tour ended, Lynn decided to head west for sunny California, joining the Walt Disney Company for many wonderful and productive years. During his tenure, he designed the “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks show, assisted with the design of the “Main Street Electrical Parade”, and the pyrotechnics for the show “Fantasmic” as well as many other projects and shows at Disneyland. After many years on the West Coast, Lynn was recruited to work on the Pleasure Island project at Walt Disney World in Orlando. While there, he wrote the music and lyrics for the “Adventurers Club All-Purpose Theme Song” and “Jump Up for Jinkies” as well as material for the original “Forbidden Disney” show for the Comedy Warehouse. He also wrote and directed the “Pleasure Island New Years Eve Show” that was performed nightly.

He became an independent consultant for Walt Disney Imagineering, allowing him to travel to Shanghai and Tokyo to work on other projects for Disney. At one point they offered him a dedicated full-time position as Senior Creative Director, however, he turned it down stating, “I want to work on my own projects,” and that is what he did! Lynn created his company 4th Wall, Ltd., and went on to write shows that were performed all over the world.

Lynn’s remarkable career included years with Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Studios, and countless other projects around the globe, including the opening of the Globe News Center here in Amarillo. Throughout his life Lynn was a writer, creative director, lighting designer, stage manager, musical composer and musician.

Yet, despite his extraordinary work worldwide, Lynn’s heart always remained in Texas. Lynn wanted to return home to Amarillo and create productions that would inspire this community.

His work with the Lone Star Ballet became one of the defining passions of his life. Lynn was the creative force behind the development and design of Lone Star Ballet’s reimagined production of The Nutcracker, a vision he began shaping in 2007. He rewrote the script, creating an entirely unique interpretation of the classic story. Through his imagination, new characters were introduced, new worlds were created, and a sense of magic was woven into every moment. His artistic vision continues to make this Nutcracker performed every year here in Amarillo unlike any other in the world.

During the early stages of the production, Lynn used his Disney connections to introduce Lone Star Ballet to Broadway designer Stanley Meyer the set designer for the Broadway production “Beauty & The Beast.” Lynn hired Stan to create the stunning sets seen in the production today. Lynn dreamed that The Nutcracker would become a cherished Amarillo family tradition, one shared by parents, grandparents, and children each Christmas season. That dream lives on through every performance.

Lynn also created other memorable productions for Lone Star Ballet, including Time Steps, which will return for the 2026 season, and last year’s ballet Alice, inspired by Lewis Carols “Alice in Wonderland”. His work shaped not only this production but the spirit and creativity of the Lone Star Ballet.

He also had a long history with the outdoor musical drama Texas. He began as a lighting designer and later became creative director. In 2003, he rewrote the show’s script to enhance its historical accuracy, resulting in the updated production Texas Legacies.

Lynn’s contributions shaped not only individual productions, but the spirit and artistic identity of the Amarillo arts community. His influence will continue to shine through every dancer, every performance, and every moment of wonder he helped create.

Lynn’s greatest joy was being an uncle. He shared unforgettable experiences with his nieces and nephew, including summers at Disneyland, beach trips, Los Angeles adventures, and attending the many productions he created. For birthdays, he designed elaborate scavenger hunts. He taught his nieces how to play blackjack, a game he enjoyed, and each Christmas he decorated his home with dazzling light displays that delighted friends and neighbors.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Charles Hart, and his sister, Jan Roberts-Campbell. He is survived by his nieces Brandi Roberts of Amarillo and Heidi Roberts of Oklahoma City, and his nephew Alex Roberts of Amarillo.

Lynn’s imagination, warmth, and generous spirit touched all who knew him. He made others believe in magic, in the impossible, and in the power of storytelling. His legacy will be carried forward by those he inspired, the family and friends who loved him, and the countless lives brightened by his creativity.

James Dirk Reeb
April 12, 1955 - October 22, 2025

As a family, we are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of James Dirk Reeb, 70, of Pampa.
Services will be announced at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
James was born on April 12, 1955, in Port Arthur, Texas to Billy and Enola Reeb. Soon after his birth the family moved to Pampa where he grew up and attended school. After graduating from Pampa High School, James attended Cabot Welding School in the late 1970s. After completing welding school, he began his career with Cabot Corporation and retired from National Oil Well Varco in 2015.
He enjoyed building and flying remote planes with his father, and many stories and laughter were shared about the time they spent together. For over 20 years James enjoyed cruises that took him all over the world and made friends along the way. He had no children of his own, but he loved his nieces and great nephews as if they were his own. James especially loved teasing them and giving rides in what the boys named the “Bat Mobile.”
Every Thursday morning, he would bring coffee to his sister and they would catch up on each other’s day-to-day happenings. James would do anything for his family, and he loved his fur-babies, Gentry, Randy, and Roscoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by Shane Kennedy.
The family left to cherish his memories are Jon Ellis, Brenda and Johnnie Cook, Tausha and Patrick Killinger, Laci and Joe Thomas, Katie Cook, Gage Kennedy, Walker Kennedy, Brenden Killinger, Jordan Killinger, and close long-time friend, Shelli Barker.

LTC (R) Winfield Burton “Jack” Cooper, Jr.
July 4, 1954 – July 15, 2025

Winfield Burton “Jack” Cooper, Jr. was born on July 4, 1954 to Winfield Burton “Jack” Cooper and Virginia Lee Boyd Cooper, in Los Angeles County, CA.

He passed away on July 15, 2025 in Noble, OK after a brief illness.

Jack graduated with the Class of ’73 at Pampa High School. In 1984, he married Cheryl D’Amico in Amarillo. They were married for over 40 years. After serving his country for 37 years in the Army, Jack retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Jack is preceded in death by both parents, a stepmother Wanda Elaine Cooper, and a brother-in-law Larry Nabors. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, a sister Gail Nabors, a stepson Michael Rascoe, a stepdaughter Melissa Blankenship, and two grandchildren Chris and Victoria.

Robert “Mickey” Richardson
October 8, 1953 – April 6, 2025

Robert “Mickey” Richardson, 71, of Amarillo and formerly of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025 in Fredericksburg.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 11, 2025 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The service will be livestreamed through the funeral home’s website.

Mickey was born October 8, 1953 in Pampa to Bob and Marguerite Richardson. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1973. He spent one semester at Texas Tech and decided that it was not for him. On June 6, 1975, he married the love of his life, Zindi Epperson, in Pampa. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June.

Mickey started his long work career at Celanese in the maintenance department in 1980 and he took an early retirement in 2001. He was a dedicated worker and made many friends along the way. In 2003, Mickey went to work for BNSF as a conductor and worked for the railroad for 19 years, retiring in 2022. He was the type that needed something to do after retirement, so he went to work for Sundown Elementary School in Amarillo and worked as a custodian for several years. Mickey enjoyed working and always wanted to help others. Anywhere he went, he was always on the lookout seeing how he could help someone, that was his nature. Mickey was truly a selfless person, and it showed.

Mickey was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Mickey was able to enjoy a trip to Pittsburgh to watch a game with his family for his 70th birthday, it was a priceless trip for him and wonderful memories. His love for his family was strong and true, especially his grandchildren. Mickey was the best “Grandy” to all of them, he tried to make all of their events, if he couldn’t be there in person, he found a way to watch it online. Mickey enjoyed taking them fishing and camping and spending quality time with them. Maci, being the only granddaughter, was for sure his little princess. Mickey would do just about anything she asked him to do. He will be missed dearly by his family and all who knew him.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Richardson; sister, Deborah Sewell; father and mother-in-law, Buddy and Joyce Epperson.

Survivors include his wife Zindi of the home; daughter, Shaylee Piland and husband Barry of Tuscola; son, Jody Richardson and wife Lenna of Amarillo; grandchildren, Alex Burling, Evan Burling, Jerren Richardson, Maci Richardson, Braxten Piland, and Walker Piland and wife Blayre; brother, Charlie Richardson and wife Jill of San Antonio; step-sister, Soni Thomas and husband Nathan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Mark Epperson and wife Mary of Amarillo; sister-in-law, Susan Richardson of Texarkana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles Janette (Hart) Roberts-Campbell
October 18, 1954 – August 31, 2024

Charles Janette Roberts-Campbell, affectionately known as Jan to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on October 18, 1954, in Pampa, Texas, Jan's life was marked by her creative spirit, loving nature, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.

Jan was a proud graduate of Pampa High School, class of 1973, and furthered her education at Amarillo College, where she graduated in 1978. Her commitment to her community was evident in her work as a lab technician at St. Anthony's Hospital, where she dedicated over three decades of service before retiring in 2009.

Jan's love for music was undeniable. She cherished her time in the marching band and could often be found playing various musical instruments. Her creative talents extended to crocheting, cross-stitching, and sewing. An avid reader, Jan found solace and adventure within the pages of her favorite books.

Family dinners were a cornerstone of Jan's life, a time for laughter, storytelling, and the sharing of her delicious home-cooked meals along with her fond love for Diet Coke. Her artistic flair shone through in her watercolor paintings, a hobby that brought her immense joy and relaxation. Jan's children were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was on road trips with Rod Stewart's music as their soundtrack or simply enjoying each other's company at home.

Disney held a special place in Jan's heart, and she loved everything associated with the magical world. Her enthusiasm for Disney was infectious, and she often shared this passion with her children, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Jan is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Campbell, and her parents, Leslie and Frances Hart. She leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity, survived by her children, Brandi Roberts of Amarillo, Texas, Heidi Roberts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Alex Roberts of Amarillo, Texas. Her brother, Lynn Hart of Amarillo, Texas, will also hold dear the memories of his sister's vibrant spirit.

Jan's life was a testament to the power of love, creativity, and the importance of family. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her passing is not only a loss to her family but to the many lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

As we say goodbye to Jan, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her laughter, her warmth, and her unwavering love will be deeply missed, but the beauty she brought into the world will live on through her family, her art, and the many lives she touched.

Danny Karn Nickelberry

Danny Karn “Cornbread” Nickelberry, 69 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed from this life into eternal rest on Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Pampa. He was born on November 14, 1954, to Willie and Lily Nickelberry in Wellington, Texas.

As a young child, Cornbread’s family moved to Pampa where he attended and graduated from Pampa High School and lived the remainder of his days. He was not an idle man and had to be active doing something at all times. Softball was his sport of choice, and his prime position was short stop. He played for years, enjoyed competing in tournaments and once no longer able to play, he eagerly watched from the bleachers. That wasn’t the only sport he excelled in; he was also quite proficient at shooting pool.

Cornbread was your typical handyman that could tinker with and fix most anything, but his true passion was in landscaping. Nothing gave him more satisfaction and pride than to start with an unkept yard or plot of ground and work it until it was overrun with lush green grass and vibrant colors from the array of flowers he had incorporated into his work of art. Being that yardwork and landscaping were his occupation for the majority of his life – he never really worked, because in his eyes, he was simply doing what he loved.

Straightforward, 100% real, and tellin’ it like it was without mincing any words was most definitely Cornbread’s way of coming across to others, but that wasn’t what he was all about either. He thrived in a crowd and loved the comradery of being around family and friends. He used to get a kick out of BBQing and feeding everyone in the vicinity. He took care of others, and it wasn’t unheard of for him to take in stray animals because they, too, needed care. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lily Nickelberry; his ex-wife, Patricia Hunnicutt; a son, Terence Wilson; sisters, Vivian Nickelberry, Theresa Nickelberry and a brother, Willie Earl Nickelberry.

Those remaining to share his memories are sons, Duane Nickelberry and wife Jessica of Amarillo, Damion Nickelberry of Garland, TX, Dwight Nickelberry of Amarillo; a brother, Aubrey Nickelberry of Colorado; sisters, Darlene Nickelberry, Joyce Nickelberry both of Pampa and a fair number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cornbread will be available to pay last respects on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 2pm until 7pm in the Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel.

Denice Holt, 68, lifelong resident of Pampa, passed away on Friday, August 02, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at St. Mark CME with Rev. Richard Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Denice was born on October 17, 1955, in Pampa to Bruce Randolph and Henry “Peggy” Woods. She grew up in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School in 1973. Denice married the love of her life Terry Holt on October 18, 1980, in Pampa. She worked for Celanese for 12 years until her retirement.

Denice loved the Lord and was a faith full member of St. Mark CME, serving on the board of Missionaries and the board of Stewardesses. She also served as overseer on the church’s behalf coordinating donations to the Tralee Crisis Center, for the coat drive, and for the backpack drive to Lamar Elementary School. She loved to go shopping, getting her nails and hair done, reading and to talk to her family, and friends. Denice was a very kind, loving, and big-hearted person, who would do anything for anyone. She loved to spend time with her family and going to her grandkid’s events.

Denice is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Randolph and Henry “Peggy” McKinnon; sister, Alfredia Calloway; brothers, Herbert Johnson and Walter Johnson.

Denice is survived by her husband of 43 years, Terry Holt; daughter, Tasha George and husband Michael George; grandson, Corey Layton Jr.; granddaughter, Kyra Layton; special niece, Tamara Johnson; siblings, Marion Wine, Sharon Johnson, Beverly Rider, Kaylo Harrison, Clayton Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Linda Kathleen (Anderson) Lamb

January 29, 1955 – July 6, 2024

Linda Kathleen Lamb, 69 years old, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully won her battle with cancer as she closed her eyes and awoke to see the splendor of Heaven and to be reunited with her precious daughter, Kimberly on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at her home. Linda was born on January 29, 1955, in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Eugene “Andy” and Betty Anderson.

Linda married her soulmate, Bill Devoll in August of 1972 and following, graduated from Pampa High School with the Class of ‘73. In her early years in the work force, she was employed as a bank teller for a number of years before finding her true calling as a dog groomer. That’s where she found her niche and it didn’t hurt that she absolutely loved animals! She collected a vast number of things, was an avid reader, she enjoyed getting her hands in the dirt working in her flower garden and even played video games for hours with her grandchildren.

Gifted with a lively and bubbly spirit, Linda knew no strangers as her personality filled the room when she entered. Family meant more to her than anything and she loved hosting if given the opportunity. Just as loving and giving as she was, she was even more determined. She was an unstoppable, unmoving force when it came to something she felt passionate about. Her fight against cancer was most certainly a fight with dignity and grace as she never complained and stayed the course throughout!

Not only was she greeted into eternity by Kimberly, but also by her parents and a brother, Mike Anderson.

Those left to mourn her passing are two grandchildren, Austen Rowell and wife Ivet of Lubbock, Ashlee Bentle and husband Andrew of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Allee Bentle; and aunt, Ramona Muegge of Oklahoma; her first husband, true love and dear friend, Bill Devoll of Pampa; Bill’s sisters, Nina Kemph, Martha Sluder; Bill’s nieces, Kala Kemph and son, Tiffany Potter and two daughters all of Pampa; live-in caregiver and adopted aunt, Joyce Potter of Pampa; her four legged sidekick, Kita and numerous extended family as well as close friends that she loved dearly.

Linda will be available to pay final respects on Tuesday, July 9th from noon until 8pm and again Wednesday the 10th from 9am to 8pm at Winegeart Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 am, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum with Brother Jim Sinyard officiating. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Carolyn (Wallace) Schutte
September 19, 1954 – June 7, 2024

Carolyn Schutte was born on September 19, 1954 in Edmond, Oklahoma, and was raised in Pampa, Texas. She passed on June 7, 2024 after fighting a valiant battle to survive and recover as best she could from the severe brain injury she sustained in 2011. Prior to that, she had loyally served her community in various roles as president of the local Chamber of Commerce, co-founding board member of the Good Samaritan Center, mayor, member of the city council, as well as participating in numerous charities. Considering public service to be a privilege as well as a duty, all reimbursements for such activities were donated to various charities.

She started out as an accountant for various businesses and served as the City of Excelsior Springs Finance Director until she opened her own firm, Mortimer Accounting Services. After brief moves to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Red River, New Mexico, she returned to her beloved Excelsior Springs to become a successful stockbroker and financial advisor with Edward Jones, winning multiple awards and recognitions for her outstanding achievements.

With her typical determination and good humor, she was still smiling and playful to the very end. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones, including her faithful and loving caregivers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dayton and Etta Wallace, and stepson, Charles “Chas” Schutte.

She is survived by her loving husband, James E. Schutte; son, Christopher Mortimer and grandchildren Alyssa and Bryson; sister, Brenda Wilkerson and husband, Dick; niece, Mandie Wilkerson-McMahon and husband, Bo; and stepsons, David James ”DJ” Schutte and Patrick “Chase” Schutte.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests tax-deductible donations to the Carolyn Schutte Scholarship for Outstanding Leadership. The scholarship is awarded annually to the Excelsior Springs High School graduating senior who, in the opinion of the faculty, best exhibits the leadership qualities Carolyn so famously embodied to all who knew her. Joseph DiCosimo
May 17, 2025 - May 15, 2024

Houston - Today, we celebrate the incredible life of Joseph Angelo DiCosimo, "Papa D" to his family, and "Mr. D" to his band students. While our hearts ache at his passing just two days shy of his 99th birthday, there's also a sense of peace knowing that he's finally reunited with his beloved wife, Ann, and many dear friends.

A Life Filled with Music and Service

Born in Mount Union, Pennsylvania in 1925, Papa D's passion for music blossomed early. He picked up a clarinet at 14 and played in his high school band and various jazz bands. World War II called and he proudly served as a United States Marine in the Pacific. After his service, he explored various paths before landing at Western New Mexico University to pursue his true love: music.

From Classroom to Community

His first teaching job after graduation took him to El Paso Bowie High School where fate intervened. There, he met the true love of his life, Ann McNamara from Pampa, Texas, and they embarked on a shared journey in education. They taught middle and high school band and PE in El Paso before moving to Pampa in the summer of 1955 where he taught until 1986.

In Pampa, they reared two children, Annette and Vincent, and were involved in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and school.

Papa D's dedication to Pampa band program was instrumental in his remarkable success. His bands consistently achieved superior ratings at UIL contest, and the Pampa program performed at prestigious, events like the Rose Bowl parade, and brought joy to the community through countless concerts. Mr. D was a pillar of TMEA, TBA and Phi Beta Mu.

Born on May 17, 1925 in Mount Union, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to Angelo DiCosimo and Antoinette DiCosimo (Corda). Preceded in death by his loving wife Ann in 1987, and his brother James in 2003, he is survived by his sister Marguerite Bellucci and husband Lewis, son, Vincent and wife Francine, daughter Annette Godziebiewski and husband Allen, brother in law James McNamara and wife Carolyn, a number grandchildren and spouses, great children, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held later in the year in Pampa, Texas.

Mountainburg, Arkansas and formerly of Pampa

Rosa Brewer, 91, of Mountainburg, Arkansas, and formerly of Pampa, passed away on April 25, 2024, in Fort Smith, Arkansas and thereafter was welcomed into heaven by Jesus, her husband, son, parents, and sisters.

A celebration of life funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the Central Baptist Church with retired minister, Rev. Norman Rushing, officiating, and retired Baptist minister, Rev. Rick Parnell, assisting. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rosa was born on May 4, 1932, in Dachau, Germany to Alois and Maria Augustin. Rosa was born into a large German family, and she was one of seven daughters. She grew up and attended school in Germany. Rosa would meet her future husband, Orvel Brewer while he was stationed in Germany. They fell in love, and she would move to the United States, and they later married on October 31, 1953, in Mobeetie. They shared almost 63 years and had three wonderful children before he preceded her in death in 2016.

Rosa loved all children and always created a connection with them. She would use that passion for children when she worked for the Pampa Independent School District for 21 years as a special education aide. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Central Baptist Church of Pampa where she served on the Benevolence Committee and taught Sunday school for many years as well. Rosa was a devout Christian woman who served her Lord in any capacity she could, and she passed those Christian values on to all her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; a husband; a son, Rodney Brewer; and by three sisters.

Her survivors include her daughter, Margaret Gilmore and husband Richard of Mountainburg, Arkansas; a son, AJ Brewer and wife Lindy of Washington, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and three sisters, Elizabeth Binner, Frieda Scholze, and Anna Kahl; and by other extended family members.
