Congratulations to senior Toby Fratto, named a Semifinalist in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. Each year, more than a million U.S. high school students take the PSAT/NMSQT to enter the competition. Fewer than 1% earn Semifinalist standing, and Toby is one of them. He now advances in the running for a National Merit Scholarship award. Way to go, Toby!

This Friday marks 25 years since September 11, and our varsity football game against Bishop-Mac will carry that weight, and more. The night moves from honoring the first responders we lost 25 years ago, to the first responders serving our community today, to the kids courageously battling childhood cancer. Our honorary team captain for the coin toss is Jack Carlson, a former Oak Lawn student and childhood cancer patient. Our team and staff will wear childhood cancer awareness shirts, available for purchase with proceeds supporting the cause, and we'll hold a fundraiser at halftime. Join us at CCHS Stadium. Kickoff is 7:15pm.

One hundred years. Chicago Christian has been part of the Chicago Southland for a century, and the thing that has not changed in all that time is the reason we are here. Every generation of students has been known, valued, and sent out to do something with what they were given. Grandparents who walked these halls now watch grandchildren do the same. That is not nostalgia. It is a foundation. The next hundred years start with the students in our classrooms right now. Honoring yesterday. Immeasurably more for tomorrow.

Chicago Christian High School is planning a Health Sciences trip to Edinburgh and London for summer 2027. All CCHS students and families are invited to learn more. Excursions lean into medical and forensic themes, with stops like the National Museum of Scotland and a West End show in London. An informational meeting is set for Monday, September 21, from 7 to 8pm in the LMC Library. A parent or guardian must attend, and RSVPs are required even if you can't make it in person. Please join us in welcoming Josh Lenarz to the CCS team. Josh joins us as our new Associate Director of Admissions. He's a Trinity Christian College graduate who spent the past 27 years serving the Trinity community in Admissions, Advancement, Athletics, and as Head Women's Soccer Coach. This fall, he'll also join the boys soccer coaching staff at Chicago Christian High School. Josh says CCS has played a meaningful role in the lives and faith of his own four children, and now he gets to be part of that story himself. Welcome, Josh!
