Come on bird Hunting Buddies. Y'all know how important the outdoors are to you. How about helping a few deserving kiddos experience Arizona's Great Outdoors. Your contribution to this great cause can make a tremendous difference. How about sharing as well. Thank you very much.

What does a week at camp mean to a kid?

A week at camp can look like hiking trails, fishing, campfires and nights under the stars.

But what a child can take home is much bigger: confidence, independence, friendship, responsibility and the feeling of accomplishing something they didn't know they could do.

Arizona Outdoor Adventures camps are underway now in the White Mountains. Our goal is to raise $10,000 by September 11 to help make these experiences possible for 40 kids.

If you've already donated, thank you. If you haven't yet, would you consider helping us send another child on an adventure?

$250 can help send one child to camp.

šŸŒµšŸ•šŸŽ Desert Treat Alert for Your Hunting Crew! #
Out training the bird dog in prime Gambel’s country the other day and he hit the jackpot — a whole carpet of fallen mesquite pods. Crunch, crunch… tail wagging like crazy. šŸ˜„
These native Arizona pods are nutritional gold: ~12% protein, natural sugars for quick energy, solid fiber, plus calcium, potassium & more minerals. Generations of wildlife and working animals have thrived on them in the desert.
For bird dogs & pups: Great occasional snack or post-hunt reward. Plenty of Arizona dogs munch them regularly with no issues — just moderation to avoid loose stools or tummy upset.
For horses: They’re obsessed with the sweet taste (like candy!). Small amounts = awesome natural treat. But watch the quantity — too many can lead to impaction or colic because the tough pods don’t break down easily in their system.
Real-world tip from the field we love sharing at AZ Quail Today. Helps keep our four-legged partners happy and healthy while we chase those upland birds!
Have your dogs or horses discovered mesquite pods? Good experience or lesson learned? Drop your stories below šŸ‘‡ Let’s help each other out!

Very nice video

šŸ“¹ Check out this incredible video of a roadrunner capturing a rattlesnake!

Roadrunners are fascinating birds that play a vital role in their ecosystem. Known for their speed and agility, they hunt various prey, including lizards, small snakes, and the young of ground-nesting birds like quail. Quail hunters should understand the food web and the interactions between species, as this knowledge helps us appreciate the delicate balance of nature.

In Arizona, roadrunners are protected under state law, so it’s important to remember that harming or shooting these birds is illegal. While they may pose a threat to the quail population, roadrunners also help control the numbers of venomous snakes, contributing positively to our environment. Every species has its role, and understanding these relationships is crucial for conservation efforts.

Let’s respect our wildlife and the intricate ecosystem we share!
