PAAS Upholstery Class Palo Alto Adult School's Upholstery Class teaches students the craft of upholstery. It is a hands o The upholstery program recently celebrated it's 75th year.

Palo Alto Adult School was established by the Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) in 1921. Old World skills are employed preserving the artform of upholstery. Class is taught by three teachers bringing a wealth of information and skill. All three instructors have themselves been students at PAAS. Many beloved instructors have left their indelible marks with the class. Students learn the evol

ution of frame materials, become familiar with new materials and are taught how to recycle old materials to create green projects. Basic woodworking skills as well as painting and refinishing are also discussed. Many students who study Upholstery at PAAS return for multiple semesters. Availability is limited. Those looking to join this class are encouraged to sign up on the first day of registration. Palo Alto Adult School does keep a waiting list should a spot become available. Do not be discouraged, we would love to have new would be upholsterers join the class and contribute to the diversity that is Upholstery 101.
