Accepting what is from the standpoint of control appears to be impossible work. One of my teachers, Les Fehmi, described the act of acceptance as "trying not to try". That landed for me. Trying is so exhausting. Trying burns precious life energy. Starting the process is more like, trying less. Then trying less. And again, trying less than that.
Strangely, I have noticed that the less I use force the more power emerges. It has a different quality and seems to be limitless and effortless. Funny how that redefines our understanding of will and intention. Intention becomes the steering wheel of power whereas will tries to be the steering wheel and the engine.

I've been contemplating the meaning of this recently and the closest single word I can come to is Surrender. And what does that mean? Not as a concept but as a feeling? I notice a feeling of lightness, a liberation, a freedom and a fear of the unknown. The bigger the release the bigger the feeling of freedom. It takes courage to let go, to surrender. It builds fortitude. It makes one brave doing it a little bit every day. Letting go of the known, of what we think is true in order to be something bigger could be a single event or a life path. And from a release a void is created which is usually filled with something powerful and beautiful.

It's Friday so it must be Deep Stretch!
