Free Bike Repair for BRIONES FAMILIES on Apr 22, 11 am - 2 pm!!!
This complimentary bike repair is made possible by Gunn PTSA, the Gunn Bike Club, and the Silicon Valley Bike Exchange (bikeX). Please sign up now. We will try to accommodate drop-ins if space is available. Repairs will be made in the back of the Gunn parking lot by Bow Gym. Bike repair will be done by BikeX mechanics and students in the Gunn bike club.

Bike Donations Wanted on Saturday April 22 11 am - 2 pm
Silicon Valley Bike Exchange (Bikex) is accepting donations of used bicycles. Volunteers, including Gunn students, work with this non-profit organization to refurbish bikes for those in need and teach bicycle repair skills! They also sell amazing used bikes. Please bring bikes to the Gunn High School parking lot, near Bow Gym, on Saturday April 22 from 11 am - 2 pm. (No rusty bikes or department store bikes accepted).

GRADUATION PARADE
Similar to last year, all four Palo Alto high schools were invited to participate in a city-wide car parade. Students may decorate their cars, wear their caps and gowns, and show off their school spirit as the Palo Alto community joins them in celebrating their incredible accomplishments! Students must adhere to all traffic laws and abide by any instructions provided by PAPD. The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m.

Palo Alto City Council is proposing budget cuts that will affect our libraries (shutting down Children's library among others), shut down all teen programs, including the teen center at Mitchell Park/ art center, and that will severely cut funding to the Children's Theater. Crossing Guard Budget Cuts and Traffic Team Elimination: The City Budget proposes halving crossing guard services as well as the elimination of the dedicated traffic team. See PDF of page 325 of the Proposed Operating Budget. A Budget Town Hall will be held on May 6, and a City Council Special Meeting to discuss the budget will be held on May 10. The Police Budget will be discussed at the Finance Committee on May 11th at 3:30 pm. Zoom information about all three of these meetings can be found by clicking on the appropriate meeting on this website. A Citywide survey to support community feedback on 2022 Palo Alto Budget Priorities can be found here. Feedback is due May 21.

Donate your Used Children's Books! Juana Briones Elementary School PTA wants to get more books in the hands of our children, but our teacher's classroom libraries are emptying out!! As you clean out your bookshelves, please consider donating any kinder - 5th grade books to our school. Our reading specialist will be getting them in the hands of our at risk children as her first priority and then re-stock our classroom libraries as her second.
