🐦💛 Meet our Colibrí teachers!

Maestra Jahaira is originally from Nicaragua and brings over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. She’s a proud mom of two boys and loves cheering them on at their Little League games! ⚾️

Maestra Diana is a psychologist with a passion for children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. She loves reading, hiking, and playing tennis with her daughter! 📚🎾

We’re so excited to have them guiding our Colibrí classroom this year! 🌱🦋

First week back at school! 🦋✨

This year, our four pillars of learning are:
🤝 Community
🎨 Creativity
🔎 Curiosity

Last week, we focused on building community through play! ⚽️ Through soccer, ring toss, obstacle courses, and other group activities, our children practiced teamwork, taking turns, and connecting with their classmates; all while developing gross motor skills through running, jumping, balancing, and moving their bodies. 💙

At Jardín de Mariposas, play is learning! 🌱🦋

La semana pasada nos enfocamos en construir comunidad a través del juego. ⚽️ A través del fútbol, juegos de lanzamiento, circuitos de obstáculos y otras actividades grupales, los niños practicaron el trabajo en equipo, tomar turnos y conectar con sus compañeros, mientras desarrollaban sus habilidades motoras gruesas al correr, saltar, mantener el equilibrio y moverse. 💙

First summer harvest!! 🍓🍎🍑🥒

Our garden is officially in full bloom, and our Mariposas are celebrating the season with our first summer harvest! This week, we picked fresh strawberries, cucumbers, plums, and nectarines straight from our school garden.

From planting and watering to harvesting and tasting, our students experience the joy of watching their hard work grow into something delicious. These hands-on moments help children connect with nature, build responsibility, and develop a deeper appreciation for where food comes from.

Here’s to a summer filled with learning, growing, and harvesting together! 🌞🌿

¡Nuestra primera cosecha de verano! 🍓🍎🍑🥒

¡El jardín está lleno de vida y nuestras Mariposas están celebrando la llegada del verano con nuestra primera cosecha de la temporada! Esta semana cosechamos fresas, pepinos, ciruelas y nectarinas cultivadas en nuestro jardín escolar.

Desde sembrar y regar hasta cosechar y probar, nuestros estudiantes viven la emoción de ver cómo su esfuerzo se transforma en alimentos deliciosos. Estas experiencias prácticas les ayudan a conectarse con la naturaleza y a valorar de dónde vienen los alimentos.
