💙💛🧡 Per Keys tradition, our entire student community came together at the Middle School campus for the Spring House Challenge!! Buddies and Houses competed in games, took part in activities, and celebrated the closing of a wonderful school year!!💙💛🧡

💙💛🧡 Wednesday's DIG Defence was an inspiring set of discoveries! Our Keys 6th graders unearthed and decoded the secrets of each other’s carefully crafted civilisations. After weeks of working in secrecy, building rich cultures and creating mysterious artifacts, the big moment arrived: presenting their hypotheses and then revealing the truth behind their imagined worlds.
Reactions from “I knew it!” to “Wait, what?!” to “Ohhh, now I get it!” echoed in the library. It was a truly amazing display of creativity and teamwork. We’re so proud of our archaeologists and the thoughtful stories they brought to life! 💙💛🧡

💙💛🧡 Shoutout to our amazing Keys 4th graders for their incredible work on the California History Museum! From creating detailed topographical maps of the state to exploring California's Indigenous cultural history and designing a Gold Mine-themed rollercoaster ride, they've truly brought our state's rich heritage to life! 💙💛🧡

💙💛🧡 The Middle School ConcART was an outstanding success! Featuring stunning student artwork and a vibrant medley of songs. Our students truly lit up the night, showcasing their talent, dedication, and hard-earned achievements! 💙💛🧡

“I especially love Keys traditions like the Spring Picnic and Art Show. There’s so much joy present, and the event feels like the perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year. The art show, in particular, is a true labor of love from Teacher Julien, and it’s wonderful to see the whole community come together.

I teach at Keys because of the community. My first experience here was as a substitute, and even then, I felt seen and supported. That welcome inspired me to join officially, and now I strive to pay it forward: helping students and colleagues feel the same sense of belonging and purpose that made my first experience so gratifying. From my perspective, a Keys student is someone who considers others while taking care of themselves. At Keys, we strive to fill everyone’s cup, and I love how the community encourages kindness, empathy, and inclusivity.” 💙💛🧡

Keys Faculty and Staff Profiles: Lower School After Care Assistant, Charles Tanedo!

“Hello, I’m Charles, and I’m part of the Aftercare Crew, though you might catch me substituting in a class from time to time. When I’m not leading an art project or baking with the kids, I enjoy long walks and exploring the newest restaurants with friends and family. Eating is my favorite hobby! There’s nothing better than sharing a meal, discovering culinary traditions, and enjoying innovative dishes with loved ones.
What motivates me most are my peers at Keys. Their passion and effort inspire me to push myself, even on challenging days. I feel lucky to be part of a team that continually encourages growth and excellence. I’ve been part of the Keys community for three years, and one of my favorite lessons to teach is the Lunar New Year festivities. As a foodie, I love sharing traditional dishes like Prosperity Toss Noodles and Mooncakes with the students: foods rich in cultural history and, of course, delicious. One memory that stands out for me was watching Spirited Away during Summer Camp. Studio Ghibli films were a big part of my childhood, and sharing that adventure with some of the older kids made a lasting impression.” 💙💛🧡

💙💛🧡 Our annual Lower School Spring Art Exhibition featured at least one piece of artwork from each of our K-4 students, presenting a bold and courageous display of artistic explorations from the school year to our entire community!! Congratulations to our young artists! 💙💛🧡

💙💛🧡 Last Friday’s All-School Spring Picnic was one to remember!
An incredible turnout, beautiful sunshine, and so many familiar faces—past and present. From students to alumni reconnecting with old friends and buddies, our community truly showed up to welcome in the Springtime! 💙💛🧡

💙💛🧡 Our 8th-grade students proudly stand with their finished mural paintings before they go up on the outside of the Middle School gym! As is Keys' tradition, these murals are painted by the graduating class as a collaborative group project and beautify the Middle School campus! 💙💛🧡

💙💛🧡 Last week, our Lower School students lit up the stage with a vibrant celebration of spring and summer! From the sunny sounds of “Surfin’ USA” to the rich rhythms of traditional Turkish choreography set to “Üsküdar,” their energy and joy brought our community together in a truly unforgettable performance. We are so thankful to everyone who cheered our performers on! 💙💛🧡
